FS: Dinan Big Bore Throttle Body off a 95 m42

I want to go back to stock on my 318is m42 engine, and would like to trade throttle bodies plus 200. The throttle body is about 2 years old. This would probably need to be within the DC area, unless you are able to ship your throttle body to me so I can do the swap, and then ship the Dinan back to you as I can't have down time on my car. If you are interested email me at blaughva@aol.com

just curious why you want to go back to stock....do you not like the dinan throttle body?

I would be on that but I can't have down time either.

same...no down time for me either....

if you have ASC, this mod shouldn't make a single iota of difference.

email'd anyway

In my conversations with the BMW tech people the BBTB is about the best thing you can do to the M42 intake wise due to the fact that we have that stupid flapper AFM.

Can you elaborate?

there are 2 restrictions to the intake. One is the throttle body, which a big bore one helps, the other is the spring loaded AFM, you could replace that with a MAF sensor and get more benefits from the BBTB

Andy pretty much got the nail on the head. Swapping from AFM to a MAF or a MAP is way more expensive than a BBTB though.

I have been afraid to ask this for the fact that i just sold my totalled 95 m3 completely. I then installed an intake on the m42 and saw that the AFM(flapper) has the same harness and plugs as the obd1 m3. Would the 3.5 inch m3 sensor have worked on the m42?

i dont think there the same plug
