California Edition Just picked up a 98 cali top. After not driving my club sport in 2 years, I had a blast bringing this home today. Looking forward to the summer! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fe96e69b80.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e27a2f7ebd.jpg Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
I sold my 96 slicktop for a 98 California Edition. Some may disagree with that decision, but living in So Cal, its open more often than not, and I love it. I guess I'm lucky; the motor was replaced before I bought it and it doesn't leak at all; the wind noise is not noticeable even at "extra-legal" highway speeds. Lots of sunshine and fresh air, without the compromises of a convertible. There's not much else like it. http://www.apexspeedtech.com/IMG_7535.jpg |
Very nice! I found out why they call it Cali top. Sun was shining on the way home and was warming my face up. It was pretty rad. You have the wheels I want. I’ve already been looking for a set. |
I also sold my 95 slicktop for my 96 california edition :) Lucky you, you both have the wind deflector... |

Can't the wind deflector be retrofitted to older models? I gotta say its pretty nice; I can have normal conversations with my passengers at 80mph and its no problem. Hell, the biggest issue with having it is the anxiety I have over something breaking and me not being able to get parts! -Neel |

That's a really gorgeous example you picked up. I shouldn't be jealous having a black/black cali top myself, but, irrationally, I can't resist. Are those sport trimmings original, or were they added by a PO? I'm very curious whether any cali tops were also built to club sport spec from the factory. |
Like a Cali M Sport? I have a 98. Black on Black 5sp Or presently Black, Yellow and Red... |
