Greetings, Friends:

I bought this car new, and it's been a dream to own and drive. (Silver color, manual transmission, moon roof, 175k miles.) I've had very few real problems with it, but now some things are starting to go wrong. For example, the roof no longer opens, the passenger door panel and window regulator are shot, the heater is getting tired, the clutch sounds like it'll need replacing soon, etc.

So I'm trying to decide whether to soldier on and invest numerous $$ each year to keep it running, or whether to pass it on to a deserving new owner. The listed selling prices seem to be all over the map on Craigslist, AutoTrader, etc; everything from $1.1k to >$15k at the moment. Any thoughts about why there are such discrepancies?

Also, I'm in the SF Bay Area, and my current shop is getting a bit tired of constantly fiddling with the door and body issues, etc. So, if I decide to keep it, I'd like to find a mechanic/enthusiast who'll give it the TLC it deserves. All suggestions would be welcome.

Really glad to have discovered this forum. Thank you for being here!
