Anyone ever replace manual shift linkage parts?

I have been unhappy with the shifting on my 5-speed. I am thinking of doing a replacement of all the little parts in my shifter linkage via Pelican Parts' kit, with the bushings and such, to tighten up the shifts. The way the next gear resists engaging, it feels almost as if the clutch is not completely releasing. I had the clutch done a year ago, so can't believe it is the release bearing. I may replace the slave cylinder, too, since that is easy. Master cylinder if nothing else works.

My query is about how hard it is to replace the little parts in the linkage without removing the drive shaft. Anybody done this?

Has anybody replaced the ATF with RedLine Manual Transmission Lube? Does this help?

Hey, thanks for any help you can give!

i did a partial replacement, but now that i'm dropping my driveshaft to fix my guibo and center bearing, i was going to re-do the whole thing. also i bought this SSK somewhere which had everything you'd need for linkage repair. plus a short shift (BMW/OE) for $75. if your interested i could dig out the recei pt, but i cant remember their name atm.
