New Wheels! Hmm ... Hi All, Had a small accident in my beemer last week. Hit a large rock in the road and took out two alloys ... ouch! I did have these on my car ... http://www.wheelworx.net/acatalog/mv3.jpg Since I was buying some new wheels I looked around and decided to replace all my wheels rather than get two new ones ... so I bought a set of these! http://www.wheelworx.net/acatalog/BMW_M6.jpg M6 Alloys ... should be here tomorrow and fitted the next day ... pics to follow ... Oh, these are for an E46 2002 318ti ... |
Those could look cool. What size are they? |
those look good, are they stock BMW rims? I notice it has a blank center cap and the little indent for the ///M badge but I've never seen them on another Bimmer before |

They have blank center caps at the mo, so I need to get the BMW labels for those and a set of the little M badges then you wouldn't know the difference. Seriously nice set of wheels. Will get some nice photo's at the weekend. |
omg i have always been in love with the M6 rims. cant wait to see them on your car. |

Gonna have to give it a wash before I take some pictures! ;) |
Damn, wrong offset!!!!!! Does anyone know what the best offset is for these wheels and a 2002 318ti? The place I bought then said that these would fit but the are hanging out from the wheel arches! I think they are 40 offset whereas I think the standard ones are more like 45-47 offset. |
that little bit of offset should not make a difference... 40 to 45ish is almost negliable. post pics. If they are poking out too far, the offset would be lower... I have a 25et wheel in 17" and mine just barely poke out enough to touch the wheel arches - im guessing by the sounds of it you have a 20-25et wheel there. |
Do you think so? Hmm ... I really need to nail this as its going to cost a lot to send these wheels back and wait for a new set to arrive. They definitely looked like they were poking out from the wheel arch too much. I'll grab a wheel in a mo and take a look for the offset on the rims I do have. isn't the ET a US thing? It seems that over here in the UK everything is referred to in mm rather than a ET 'rating' ... It just concerns me about MOT and wotnot. If it would fail an MOT it would mean I'm also not really insured ... which is a total nightmare thought. I'm wondering if there is a decent chart out there for the 318ti ... I've used google and not found anything. |
ET is measured in MM over here, so I guess that its the same. |

I just checked the wheels I have here ... they are ET35 ... that's way too low for my car. I think the current ones are ET45 ... |

How wide is the wheel? I think you can do 35mm with up to an 8 inch wide wheel. 8 in. = 203.2 mm |

Yeah these are 8". This is a 318ti E46 though. And from what I can make out has a different wheel arch setup. My gut feeling is that they are too pokey outy! :) |
