318ti to m50 NEED HELP

trying to crank my swap, I have followed the 4 to 6 cly swap guide to the teeth.

already cut EWS wire #7 and bridged wires 1&3 on the EWS box.

M50b25 with 402 ECU, fuel pump not engaging when I turn the key.

All help is greatly appreciated

people are also telling me I need to bypass my EWS through a chip in the ECU. I have found multiple chips for sale for the m50b25 non vanos and I wanted to make sure this would help rather than hurt.

they don't say anything about deleting the EWS on the non vanos 402, but with the 413 they say they delete EWS. The 402 chips say they delete "v-max"

I thought the wire to snip is #66? That could be only with a 413 ECU, however... All my experience is with M50 Vanos w/413, so take my advice with that in minde.

The fuel pump may not engage until the engine is actually turning, so you may be looking in the wrong place.

Ground wires are the next thing to look at.

would an automatic wiring harness on a manual car have anything to do to it?

wolferj-RIP 09-07-2015 02:18 AM

It shouldn't cause any issues, you'll just have the extra connector for the trans ecu, which you aren't using.

that's what I thought. I am going to triple check the fuel lines in the morning and check and see if I have fuel through any of them..

Feed in the front, return in the back of the fuel rail.. stock m50 FPR

wolferj-RIP 09-07-2015 03:48 AM

Is your FPR on the rail or under the car?

Alec 09-07-2015 04:53 PM

there are two, one on the rail and one on the car.. I ran two FPRs with the supercharger setup

the motor has no EWS but it might be the chassis EWS. tried cranking it with the EWS2 box plugged in and un-plugged

wolferj-RIP 09-08-2015 07:10 AM

What year is the chassis?

Alec 09-08-2015 04:07 PM

1998

Should I have the FPR on the RAIL or under the car? I have been finding some threads where people are being told to remove it completely...?

Also, any one have a thread on how the fuel lines are hooked up under the car with the FPR under there with it?

Alec 09-21-2015 12:28 AM

still no fuel when the stock FPR out. really want to fix this on my own before I take it somewhere.

Alec;

I wish I could be more help, but my knowledge is sparse with the OBDII engine into an OBDI chassis...

I suspect the DME is not sending the signal to pump fuel, due to the EWSII.

As for the FPR, one or the other, not both. I run the one on the fuel rail.

I have someone working on it right now, we have narrowed it down to the ECU, if the new one I ordered doesnt work we are going to force fuel and spark
