Wisco Touring International

I've been a lurker on here for a while and figured I might aswell introduce myself now. I bought my 95 318ti in October for $2200 from a guy that was parting it out. Well I technically bought it from him. My friend bought it before me, put in a rear diff so that it could drive again, forgot to close the hood tightly and it flew up on the highway. This shattered the windshield and destroyed the hood. So he got a new windshield and then sold the car to me. Enough typing. Here are some pictures for you.

Almost immediately after I bought and washed it:
http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...i/IMAG0062.jpg

Roughly a month later:
http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...i/IMAG0154.jpg

At that time it was maxxed out on Rokkors in the rear and had about 3/4" in front to go.

And two Sundays ago:
http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...4b84796e_b.jpg

That was taken by a new friend and photographer of mine, David (Davis) Monzingo.
I was scrambling to get the car together for Eurowerks Saturday and that is a shot during the ride home.
It is plastidipped Camo Tan right now. Took 13 cans, 4 hours, and staying up until 2am friday to get it done. Unfortunately we are dumb and didn't tape anything off. So there is still a lot to peel (such as parts of the mirror, misc rubber trim, and my rain tray). But we powered through to get it done so that my bumper and header panel matched the car for Eurowerks the following day. lol
The wheels are a set of Style 5's I bought for $650 and refinished by polishing the lips, coating them with shark hide, adding new nuts and gold bolts, and then making a custom center. Here is a better shot:
http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...i/IMAG0501.jpg
The center is now clearcoated instead of raw vinyl.

A short list of whats done currently.

Exterior:
Camo Tan plastidip
DJ Auto Projectors w/ city light (low beams delensed)
New Amber Corners
M Tech Bumper
Clubsport/M tech Door Moulding
M Tech Sideskirt (no plugs=/)
Black/White Roundels
Debadged "318"
Smoked vinyl over top of tail lights
Cattech Skid plate
17x8 Style 5's
Nexxen N3000 205/40 tires(didn't stretch as much as the usual 205/40 =/ )

Engine:
Original M42
Kamotors Intake
Midnight Tuning Solutions Chip(on the way)

Suspension:
E30 Bilstein HD rear shocks
Rokkor Coils (maxxed out and riding bump stops)

Interior:
Subaru modified shift knob
Shift boot and e-brake boot
Cleaned up a bit
Grip Royal Wheel( on the way)

Before:
http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...i/IMAG0426.jpg

After:
http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...i/IMAG0436.jpg

Peeled the roof Friday night, as well as delensed the low beams. My projector shrouds don't fit so I'm figuring out what to do there. Here is a crappy instagram picture that got pixelized when I put it on instagram=D
http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...eriii/poop.jpg

More things on their way in the mail. As well as an actual paint job soon=D
Any thoughts or criticism are welcome.

Mr.Squeelerz 07-31-2012 04:19 PM

So you made it to the show. I missed that row of cars...was distracted waiting on the curb for a friend to arrive and totally forgot come back around once he made it. Bummer. I got to see the nose of it....that was about it.

Nice transformation:cool:

slow_ti 07-31-2012 04:30 PM

Not to shabby. You've got my attention!

Earl 07-31-2012 05:01 PM

Haha Thanks guys.
Morgan- Is this a big BMW gathering? Are you on WiBimmers? If not get on there and spread the word about it. lol

Squeelerz- Yeah I was there and the show was awesome. I was never there before. Did you see that red Ti that was m5x swapped and boosted with some major rearend work? Who is that? And thank you. It looks quite different=D

Slow- Not leaving you out. I've always liked you car. Its pretty sick. Those words mean a lot coming from you=)

You mean the ones missing jack plugs? =( I picked it because I've never seen anything near tan on an e36, I like the color tan, and then the fact that I don't believe anyone has dipped an entire car with the Camo Tan as of yet=D

You lie so hard=D Tessa was my number one inspiration to buy this thing. I saw the potential (but didn't notice the oil stains it left=P)

Update: Yetserday I took off from a stop sign a little roudy to clean up some carbon buildup. Shifted at between 5-6000rpm and then went into second up to there again and then shifted into fourth since I have the beautiful early transmission problem. Anyways when I came to a rest at the stop sign I started blowing some wicked white smoke. I thought I magically blew my headgasket=( It was running fine but just smoking heavily. Took off slowly when the light turned green and it started sputtering for a few seconds and then went fine and the smoke was getting less and less. Then all of a sudden it stopped smoking and ran great. Got home, took it out of gear, and opened the hood. Nothing bad looking under there. Go to the exhaust, zero smoke and it doesn't smell sweet. Revved it a bunch to try to prompt it to smoke and not a damn thing....I am going to do a compression test today or tomorrow to make sure it isn't a headgasket. The PO told me he replaced the head about 20,000 miles before I got the car. I was thinking intake manifold gasket and that the coolant got sucked past it doing the hard pull.
But also in this inspection I found a cracked hose off of my intake boot and want to replace it. I can't find a diagram to save my life to figure out the part number. I stole this picture and hope it is okay if I use it. Mine was fixed up by someone exactly the same as this picture states=/
http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...eriii/hose.jpg

BlackBMWs 08-03-2012 03:47 PM

It's likely this hose. #12.

Hope this helps! Nice car!

Earl 08-03-2012 03:58 PM

I'll order that right away.
I checked my oil to see it a quart high...coolant is where it always is. Maybe I overfilled it the other day when adding some since I leak? I put two quarts in. Going to drain some later and do the compression test. It is getting warm too after driving more rhan 30 miles
Would excess oil cause this? Excess oil could have pushed through the valve seals yesterday and burned creating the smoking, but that would have been bluish

I hope it's not your head. I'm just finishing up a motor swap after probable head/HG damage. I was lucky enough to find a donor M44 and ended up renewing all plastic, rubber and seals before I drop in back in.

Do you think you overfilled the oil? Good luck!

Earl 08-06-2012 02:03 PM

Samco Intake boot is on and I put a hose clamp on the ICV hose to keep it from popping off. My idle is better than ever now. Can't wait for the new hose.

Difference in size between stock intake boot and the Samco boot:
http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...i/IMAG0593.jpg

I'm looking for a spare intake manifold and valve cover to paint up and replace these ones with. Missing loads of plastic covers and rubber trim and such but those will come=)
Some pictures from the other day when I was working on her.

http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...i/IMAG0588.jpg
http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...i/IMAG0587.jpg

Ended up finding nothing wrong to create my smoke problem. Thinking some oil sucked through a valve seal or maybe I pulled coolant from the intake manifold gasket. I'm not sure but she is running fine and hasn't done it anymore.

Edit: I need to hide my ballasts too. Does anyone know a good spot to hide them while making the light plugs still reach?

I've seen people tuck them under the upper crossmember just forward of the radiator or if you really want to hide them, you can tuck them inside of the front bumper carrier.

Lookin good man, keep it up!

Earl 08-06-2012 04:58 PM

hmm... I'll have to look tonight and try a few things out=D And thank you

Ralliart10 08-07-2012 07:38 AM

What kind of intake is that?

Earl 08-07-2012 08:49 AM

That would be a Kamotors Intake:) Sounds nice and throaty, and I believe it either didn't effect power or it added a horse or two. It's a cloth filter inside of a carbon fiber canister.

Crashaddict 08-07-2012 09:30 AM

dude, very unique, i dig

Earl 08-08-2012 12:09 AM

Thank you:)
Did this today

Midnight Tuning 93 Octane chip. Sooooooooo worth it. Woke the m42 right up.
Shipped almost immediately and arrived roughly a week later from Canada. Customer service was amazing. Top notch guy Barrie is.
I haven't gotten to really dig yet but she runs a lot smoother and accelerates just that much quicker. Would have did a beat run but on a 6k hard 3rd gear pull she smoked for a second so I let off. Lol excess oil must be leaking past my valve seals on hard accel. Need to not do that until I get this sorted out. Lol

Earl 08-09-2012 04:26 PM

I cannot wait for my steering wheel to finally arrive. It's been preordered since the end of June=D Also, would it be a good idea to move this all to the lounge? I noticed that's where most guys have their build threads.

Edit: Also looking for a new shift boot and hand brake boot. Anyone here who makes them? I want something simple and clean, but elegant. Like diamond stitched suede? That'd look classy.

Earl 08-10-2012 10:57 AM

Thank you. I always loved the color of your car=D

So I happened across this on ebay and wanted to see what you guys think.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Pow...8&cmd=ViewItem

Would it be a good idea? Has anyone deleted power steering? I believe my pump is not in the best shape because it chirps at full lock.

The same guy who made that also offers this:http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E36-318T...item4aa9e325c0

Good idea aswell?

If this should be in the lounge section could it please be moved too=~)

Edit: Found his website. http://www.condorspeedshop.com/

Earl 08-24-2012 12:28 PM

I want the smoked version of these for when my car is back to black=) Here is for anyone looking for the White/Silver MHW tail lights though: http://www.ebay.de/itm/RAR-Ruckleuch...item3cc9e13a01

Earl 09-06-2012 12:02 PM

Lost a fog delete plate on the highway the other day=( Can't fit my fogs for the meantime because I have no brackets. I did however have some vinyl laying around and put it on the fogs for ****s and giggles. What do you guys think? too much? I'm not sure either
