1994 BMW E36 M42 1.8L engine from 318, complete 68K mi $1500 Yreka CA 96097

I have an E36 M42 engine for sale. I purchased it from a fellow BMW enthusiast in Fresno, CA about four years ago. He pulled the engine from his 1994 318 (auto transmission) to swap in an M motor. Long story short I was planning on swapping the engine into a 1973 BMW 2002, but the opportunity popped up for me to purchase back a muscle car that my grandpa purchased new off the dealer lot in 1971, so now I have one too many projects.

The engine has 68K mi, came out of an automatic car, the original owner ran Mobil One synthetic in the engine. It is in very nice shape. If you look at the photos you will see that the engine has an E30 M42 front sump oil pan (I no longer have the E36 rear sump pan), it also does not have the AC compressor, and the power steering pump is not mounted. Currently it is set up with a shorter belt to drive the water pump and alternator. It comes with all the airbox, intake, harness, DME, down pipe with catalytic converter, flexplate, E36 dual mass M3 flywheel and pressure plate (flywheel has a bolt broken off in it), starter, coils, wires, bell housing bolts and all other goodies you see in the photos.

If you want I also have an E30 5 speed Getrag 240 gearbox that bolts right up to the M42 $330.00

I’m located in Yreka CA (about 20 miles south of the Oregon boarder on I5, a 5-6 hour drive from the Bay Area). I would be willing to meet a firm buyer in Redding CA on a weekend.

No shipping!

Thanks for looking!
Peter

Sorry to do this to your thread Bentworker...

REDIS you have a whole 116 posts. You have no right shutting down a new(er) member like that. Furthermore his comment was right on track IMO. A $200 smart a$$ comment does nothing to help Bentworker.

bump for a quick sale of a clean set up.

May be able to ship out of Medford Oregon or Redding California

Any new interest?

Bentworker 03-05-2007 02:57 AM

Offers?

I'll be going up to Portland, Oregon this month, and would be willing to take it up with me for any offer over $1000.
