low look, street only?
 

Looking to start my new project car with suspension, after reading the faq im still not sure on the specifics for what im looking for.

Id like a slightly higher then slammed look, slight rake, and not bounce all-over the road. Basically, I like that low look but dont want to suffer too badly in ride. Is there a realistic way to pull that off?

HandR race with new struts are an option by budget seems to like (from the faq options), but whats ride like? What about koni's with sports, are they going to give that low look... I prefer very little wheel well.

I intend to run 17/8 225.45 (dont like shorter sidewalls then 45..)

Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice.

welll i know that most people on this site perfer the H&R race springs with Bilstien sport shocks. that setup will lower your car but not to much that i think that it will ruin your ride. look around though. never know what u might find. i know they have a setup on www.bavauto.com that can be adjusted to differant heights. have fun and good luck

thanks, thats the setup I ordered. we'll see how it goes, thanks to the 'howto' section i have a shot at installing them. maybe some before and afters when the parts get here.

What a difference... the stock shocks/struts were totally shot to h e double hockey sticks.

Stuck with the steelies for now, but man, in addition to driving a lot better... no more monster truck wheel wells.

get a set of KW adjustables.

a bit pricey, but the end result is completely in your hands!

and the quality of the product is v.good

running on Bilstein's PSS9 kit. Rears are at full drop and the fronts are an inch and a half from full drop. Car has a slight rake with the rear a hint higher than the front.

As it sits, the rear tyres see to just be even with the wheel arch and the fronts have about an inch to go... perfect

That looks great! I'm currently in the process of looking for a new suspension setup and wanted to go with H&R's w/ Bilstein shocks. I was afraid that the Race would be too much of a slam, but it appears that w/ the Bilstein shocks it's not too bad at all. Just enough drop to kill that wheel gap :smile:

Do you know which spring pad is in the back? I do like the rear to be a little bit more tucked (too help keep the front from eating it on steep slopes) so was planning to run the 5mm pads.

In any case, how is the ride? Is it teeth shattering? :confused:
