Anyone have any ideas on rear brake upgrades. My ti has an M3 motor and large 12.6 inch Brembos up front. The rear is stock ti. I know this will more than suffice, but in the interest of the never ending quest to upgrade, I was wondering if any stock vented rear BMW caliper/rotor combinations would fit seeing as the rear trailing arms are from an e30.

Replace entire rear drive assembly with M roadster parts (easy bolt-in).

This gives the large diff (which you WILL break, it's only a question of when) and the large brakes you crave.

I have stock M3 frontts and rears with Porterfield pads, and it stops like hitting a school.

I have the samw question? Do we just upgrade rotors to vented and call it a day? I thought these were the same size as 325 rotors?

Stock ti rotors are the same size. Steve has a few posts on this I think.

The M brakes are quite a bit larger, and require changing additional parts to work.

I have upgraded the fronts to ///M3 units, what is the upgrade path for the rear? Did you say the rear ti brakes are the same size as the 325?

I would really suggest simply going through all of the messages in this section. The main reason I wanted a 318ti specific message board was for this purpose. For people to use the search function and read what others have done before posting the same question.

If someone would want to do a FAQ on brake setups, that would be great. ;)

If you went the route of M3 brakes on the back you could have some vented as non M e36s are equipped with sold rotors in the back.

keep in mind in harsh breaking 85% of braking is your from brakes , and with brembo big brakes you should be fine.
