M44 Superchargers - GKD vs. DASC Which is better?

Please share your experiences. Though the GKD webpage seems more influential in helping the average joe to understand what they are receiving and how to attain the best tune. I perosnally believe GKD's Trademark Name is more succumbed to meeting all of our pockets in a nice way.

If anybody would like to add your input and or experiences with your current set up, that would be great! Just want to help others navigate to what's available for their Ti and other Beamers.

Anybody have Dyno Images from DASC?

Was wondering if anybody had any Dyno Images to upload here from their DASC install... that's be nice to compare from according to GKD's website.

GKD

Hi, I got the GKD coil on plug conversion at the beginning of the year, well made bit of kit!
Also I had a query with it & found Peter from GKD to be an extremely helpful guy, he gets my vote
every time!

Peter seems very informal with my personal emails to him. He briefly explained what was necessary to install a SC kit.

He directed me to find a (K-Data) programmable ECU and also mentioned to me that a set of 440cc injectors will been needed for optimal performance.

As soon as I get some debt paid off, this GKD kit is mine!!! DASC in my opinion, to find one even used has been hard.

What's the special difference?

Did you notice any improvements in performance with this coil on plug conversion?

GKD kit is new to me. I see it does not have tuning with it so I could help with tuning code through MidNight tuning. Price is very good compared to DASC. I will look into the kit more to see if I can find any issues. I know there was a KO Performance kit that got bad reviews and they didn't back the product.

If you pound in 14psi of boost with a Meth injection you can get 250hp easy. Pat Knosker (sp?) on the board did it with dyno posted. I ran 15-16 psi on my DASC but never dynoed. I have a Youtube video of how it completely broke the 265/40/17 rears loose through 1st & 2nd

Interested in this kit for sure but need to work right now so I will get back later...

I emailed the company, and they referred me to K-Data. The fully programmable ECU seems nice as well... The sales person also suggested 440cc injectors... so, there again, I am only going by what Peter at GKD mentioned to me...

To me, it's definitely worth a shot, with GKD, K-Data ECU and some injectors, I will see where that takes me...

Let us know how the build goes. I previously anticipated an DASC or GKD install, but found a Dinan unit from a wrecked M3. Which will go in now. I still need to find some management preferably cheap. K-data seems really simple and easy to use, may not be able to pass them up. Good luck!

I have always loved the cool factor of a roots blower on an M42/4. If only I could make one make more sense than an M5x swap. This kit is intriguing however.

DASC kit but make sure you get a tune and don't use the RRFPR

Enjoy

I thought that I read that GKD won't ship the supercharger kit to the states. Did this change recently?

Biolite 08-26-2015 12:56 PM

That's the last I heard too. I e-mailed the owner about a year or so ago concerning the kit working with LHD E36s and he stated they were still working on some prototypes and verifying it would fit. I told him there would probably be a good interest in the forum here, but haven't heard anything from him since then. I'd be interested to know if someone in the US has acquired one and how it works.
