1999 318ti Specs I am considering the purchase of a 1998 or 1999 318ti, but I am having no luck finding definitive information on what comes with the various "packages". For instance, wheel size on the 1999. I am looking at a ti that supposedly has 18" wheels. Did the 1999 even offer 18" wheels? Also need clarification on the Automatic Transmission: From what I have read, it appears that the 1999 had 3 shift options available (economy, manual, automatic)---is this right? If there is a definitive list of the standard and optional features for these model years, I would appreciate directions on how to find it. I have been plugging in all sorts of Google Searches and not getting much at all.... Thank you. |
I know this much, rear head rests, side airbags (optional). If you have a VIN, mallard can check it out for you. |
In 99 they are all Sport models and it would have 16" 5-spoke wheels. |
na not all 99s came with the 16s. mine came with 15s and i know the guy i got my car off of did not change the wheels. but all 99s had the m package and the 3 spoke m wheel. i think options were the same for almost all the years. obc, arm rest, wheel package, and on and on. also i think the side air bags were stand. in the 99s. |
always forget when the vented front brakes came in too ... was that mid 98 or mid 99? |
I think I always remember it being a couple months after my production. So April or May '98 |
forgot about that also. i would say 98 there were only 600-800 ti's made in 99 so i figure it would have been 98 |

1999: 540 units imported all sport models (16" wheels) 3 spoke M wheel is only diff between '98 and '99 1998: post 4/97 production had vented brakes in front (not drilled/slotted but vented) Base, active and sport models avail. Otherwise, to my knowledge it is down to individual options. |
