Hey Dustent i talk about this in my luch break with some merchandiser on my job, they are 3 with 2 civic and one prelude, one of the civic and the prelude have the comander install, they explain me this mod. is very popular in Puerto Rico and more in the import, so i talk a lot with one of the guys , he invite me to him mechanic this week end, so i want looking for info and numbers. They tell to me that the insta;;ation is very fast and easy and is very easy to set up, on of the guys runs 18psi of boost!!!(prelude) the other psi and beleive the cars runs FAST!!!. So i looking for info to help you and me and the others that like this mod.

The new PCIIIs are USB. Best place to get them is from ebay off a trashed bike.

If that doesn't work out for you, a buddy of mine owns a motorcycle shop. I can see what I can hook up for you.

Great! The nice thing about the PCIII is that you can easily share your "tune" with others, and try different settings for different size injectors. I'm still debating between the PCIII and NickG's tune.

I could be convinced to do a group buy. Would anyone else be interested?

I believe this is the one we need: http://www.powercommander.com/308-211.aspx

Model number: 308-411 (PC III USB) Retails for $339.95.

Where can we find 36 lb/hr injectors? It would be nice to find some BMW injectors that would fit, or the spacers/adapters needed to fit without the air shroud.

FATHER 12-19-2006 01:13 PM

Dustent the some ford injectors are fit on BMW i have 4 19# from mustang install on my car, i buy it on Ebay for 40.00, but i think you have the oem injectors with the hoses so you need an adapters i think

This should work well as long as you don't exceed ~10psi of boost. After 10psi I think the factory MAF is going to start clipping really bad and (as far as I know) there isn't a fix for that yet.

This is meant to be a DIY tuning solution for fuel ONLY (no ignition control) which will allow you to run larger injectors (thus more fuel) without confusing the computer too much. A wideband oxygen sensor is a MUST if you plan on tuning it yourself.

Santa didn't bring me a PCIII. :( I did get a lightweight aluminum low-profile jack and cordless impact driver though.

I'm going to do a bit more research and see what else there is out there. I'll update the thread with any new info I find.

Hi, can the PCIII retard timing in M44s other than fueling? I don't remember it.
There is a method for know how much ignition timing should be retarded, with eaton supercharger as DASC?

30lbs inj should be ok for 10-12psi of boost with a PCIII, right?

Who have a picture of NickG injector's adapters? Can you post it here?
thanks.

Hi guys, now I have my power commander 3 usb! I have too some maps, but the car isn't ready. The crankshaft position manager is gone, so I need to find a new one, then I need to search some big injectors and I'll wire it to the car...

Great! Keep us posted.

After more than one year things are changed a lot, I'm going turbo and I have all parts, but still I have the power commander and I hope to use it with some 36lbs injectors that I bought.

So all we know that power commander will work with our cars, but it will control only fuel, that can be good on a stock dasc, but with a turbo it's so easy to raise the boost and controlling the timing would be great and safe for the engine.

Dynojet launched time ago another product, called "Ignition module". I've analysed it, downloaded suzuki gsx-r 1000 wiring diagrams to see if it would be useable in our cars. Then, after a great dialog with Dynojet Tech Staff, we concluded that it will not work in our cars, because suzuki uses 24-2 crank position count, and our is a 60-2. It will be too pricey for Dynojet to modify it for our crank position system, and he told me that other ignition modules from other bikes will not work too, because no one uses that 60-2, and because ignition module for a X model of bike is not compatible with power commander for Y model bike.

So I would say to go with something better suited, like SMT-6 or SMT-7, that can change the timing too.

I tried to use map with PC3, instead of TPS, and on desk it works fine.
Maybe I'll use it and will seach some cheap way to fool the ecu to retard timing.

one good way to get the power comander is go to cycle gear and get the credit card they offer and pay it off in three months no interest thats how i got mine for my bike

Is this information still relevant a few years later?

You do not want a PCIII to tune with. You won't have control over spark or MAF/MAP
