Missing engine part? Hose replacements?

I’m getting to know my car and of course engine. My 318ti is my first car I get to dabble in so there is a lot I need to learn.

I noticed some hoses need changing, cables and looks like I’m missing something from under my hood!

What is the hose connected to the Air Intake Boot?
What is the cable that looks deteriorated?
What are 3 parts that are to be lined up but the middle one is missing?

Thank you!

RealOEM will be your friend! You can look up diagrams for the routing of hoses and so on! With part numbers to find a replacement.

The middle cable is for your throttle body.

Last "missing part", I had on my 318ti too - someone can tell you exactly what it is, or look it up, but its some kind of option/electrical thing that some models (or all 318ti:confused:) don't have. there is nothing wrong there.

Oh and take your time to get to know your 318ti! Don't chase power yet, its a loosing cause!

First start with maintenance, suspension/brakes/wheels/tires, enjoy it and as you get to know it then see what kind of power options there are . . most will be expensive!

The hose connected to the air intake boot is also connected to the air distribution manifold that connects to the injectors. I believe it's to help atomize the fuel (you can search "air shrouded injectors". At any rate, having a crack at the intake boot is not a good thing, because you could introduce air that's not being metered by the MAF. Here's a link to the parts diagram: https://www.etkbmw.com/bmw/EN/search...44/USA/13_1721

I'm going to say that the cable that deteriorated is for cruise control, since the other one is for the accelerator pedal.

The missing part? Have no idea - I have a '96ti basic, and I don't have anything in that spot either.
