HEATING VALVE!!! which one??

Hi Guys,
I bought a previously swapped 318ti with a 95' M3 swap. The heating has never worked since i have owned it. I know all the common issues with the cables in the dash and the heater core valve failing on the fire wall. Everything in the dash is fine, the heater valve is new and installed. But after doing this i am confused to which valve i need (1 valve 2 hose connecter 4cyl, or 2 valve 3 hose connector 6cyl). I noticed that there is a coolant hose (i believe its a coolant hose) coming from about half way down the block/ head under the intake manifold that is just capped off. My 3 connector heater valve is using the 2 heater core lines and the rear most coolant line from block/ head. Does any one know what combination of valve and lines you used when the swap was done? or does anyone have any diagrams that i can look at.
Thanks
Lee

If you have a 3 connector valve than you should connect the other hose in.

Does that help?

your pic didn't work, just says hotlinking to realoem.com is not allowed

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but running into this same problem on my S52 swap (3 hoses and 3 connectors on 6-cyl heater valve and 2 hoses with 2 connectors on 4 cyl valve). I'm assuming it has to do with the M3 climate control versus my manual heat and A/C controls in the Ti. What have people done with the extra hose coming off of the S52? Just cap it?

Use the heater valve for the ti (or M Roadster/Coupe) for a swap. The ti does not have dual heater cores because it does not have dual climate control.

Ditto. The connection to the engine is the same regardless of the heater valve. M3 had dual outlet from the valve for split driver/passenger temp control.

Got it - thanks guys!
