The rear has a metric ton of toe. Camber wise the rear seems like it is 3 or 4 degrees. |
I found a set of latches in decent shape and cleaned them up as best as I could. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psq8ppol8m.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psimvvux8d.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pswvc0fhfi.jpg Now I can finish assembling the drivers side door. The passenger side needs to be resprayed so it will probably stay apart this far. |
Recleaned the door one last time http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psif285jnn.jpg Played with some butyl tape http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psxkmpyh4a.jpg and voila http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psmeliofwe.jpg |
I removed the clips from my old inner window seal and installed them on the new one as they are NLA http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pswavgf59x.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psi8lye3y5.jpg Installed the door card next. Really happy with how it came together. I just need to find my mirror switch and order new mirror covers. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pssdkjcab7.jpg I also got a blower motor cover and removed the insulation. I will be smoothing it out and modifying it a bit as well. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps0mr9sff2.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psgmrquuue.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psituezhbc.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pslusekxms.jpg |
Finally had my new bumper trim so I threw it on to get an idea of how the rear will look when "finished" http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psoghi9haw.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pshynk2n8h.jpg |
Test fit my new carpets. I should be able to start on the false floor frame shortly* http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps0dicnbr1.jpg |
Keep up the work dude! Thanks for always sending me snaps of how I regret selling the Ti :/ |
I've been meaning to update this but photobucket is blocked at work. I had a blockoff plate cut at work to fill the hole in the trunk from the spare tire (Don't mind the missing nut. The spare mechanism used to have a push pin in that spot. I have since ordered and installed a new nut, as well as siliconed the plate in place.) http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psc3edqhom.jpg I recleaned the floor boards and removed the handbrake. The car lays frame when aired out and the whole system ( besides the handle itself) was missing from the car ever since I bought it. I will make a blockoff plate for the console until I can make a locking hydraulic handbrake that appears original http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pscszf7cim.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps6sgmzq3k.jpg Next up I ended up deciding what radiator I would run. I opted for the e36 radiator made by CSF. It will require some measuring to see what hoses work and such. The radiator is gorgeous and the quality is amazing. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psx4jrfflk.jpg I picked up some super rad Reboot Engineering radiator stays to rid of the flimsy, tricky, and ugly OE stays. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psb9bjv95x.jpg I also picked up new rubber isolators and 6 cylinder radiator brackets from the dealer. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psg0kzknlb.jpg Today I threw it in the car to mock it up and have it in place to extend the aux fan temp switch wiring perfectly. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psm6b34chx.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps9wumpuvt.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps8iuurq9r.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psnssg9lq0.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psv2slbfa7.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pskg6lqpj1.jpg I also finally found the part number for the rear splash guard nuts and threw them on temporarily. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pstun4oabx.jpg The last thing I have been working on is finding horns that sound good and aren't obnoxious. Everyone seems to use Hella Supertones and I just hate the sound of them. I opted for Hella Sharptones. Unfortunately they're ugly as sin when you buy them but I fixed that quickly. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps6u24lahc.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psfnpgbyxi.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps0kl3p04c.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psxqkj8iuy.jpg I was told that the hardware is garbage and corrodes quickly so the obvious choice was to replace them with stainless socket head hardware. That brings us up to speed. I have a package enroute from Germany and some other little things here and there, so updates should be coming more frequently=) |
Bump for update! |
Parted it out and sold everything... Just kidding lol. Photobucket won't work at my work anymore and I have been too lazy to keep this up to date using my phone I will compile an update for you in the next few days=) |

That's not even funny!!:mad: Photobucket is a pain, I haven't gotten the third party icon for my pics so far but I think its because I haven't signed in since the update, and as a result haven't accept their new "user policy"?? I just created a imgur account and started using that instead. What a pain. |
The blocking software at work isn't working today so I can now update this. I threw in my OEM Bosch Projectors to get ready for my wiring simplification/extension. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pstxe6bsw1.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pskkakjtdb.jpg I also bit the bullet and ordered my Driveshaft Specialist of Texas rebuilt driveshaft. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pst3ociilt.jpg I saw a guy had modified a set of jack pads to keep them from falling out so I had to do it as well. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psh843fbbi.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pspqgabrxs.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pslnwnr6gv.jpg I just drilled and tapped them in the center for an m8x1.25 countersunk bolt. It wasn't too bad of a process. Now when the pad is inserted into the rocker, you install the bolt and the clips cannot move inward enough to pop out. Another new thing is that I sold my 1996 328iS. This meant that I had my late bumper Racing Dynamics list sitting around with no use. Out of sheer luck a guy contacted me asking if the lips differed between late and early bumpers. He just purchased one that happened to be for an early bumper, but he needed a late one. We set up the trade and he so kindly had his shipped to me first so that I could show the differences between the two. I was super stoked to have this opportunity and now we both have the lips that we want. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps08ummixu.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psdduz9wuz.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps8hagg0gf.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps3vu4uj5m.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pstmzqknby.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pschi1z4kj.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psuc7tovhv.jpg Another new thing is that since the car lays frame when aired out, the handbrake is somewhat unnecessary and it would look better without one in the console. I made a template for the hole and just need to sacrifice another console to make the filler piece. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psaty27c9k.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psm3ant9zm.jpg The last thing is that I just picked up another compact to drift once I finish this one. I already gutted it of most of the interior to sell off to pay for the chassis (let me know if you need anything). I also took the wheels off as I already have a set of rollers and the tires on it are nice enough to sell. It should be plenty fun once I get around to it. The M44 will stay in until it blows up. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psksecq1um.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psn3oxxlge.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psf9xcphkh.jpg Happy Halloween https://youtu.be/ter2mZXWLt8 |

I need to update this=( I feel bad because I've gotten so bad at keeping this up to date and detailed compared to how I used to run it=\ |
Been reading this from the first till the last page. Absolutely stunning work. Hope you'll find the time to carry on and update this soon. Greeting from Germany! |
