Lucky for you, I happened to stumble upon this earlier today.

I don't know if that's just the cover, or if it includes the seal also. If you order them, please report back on that.

CirrusSR22 04-14-2010 06:31 AM

I am fairly sure BMW doesn't sell that door handle seal seperately. Someone, somewhere in S.E. Asia sells an aftermarket seal set on eBay. I've seen a lot of bimmerforums posts about buying from him.

I ended up carefully using black silicone. It's unoticeable from more than a few feet away and seals far better than the rubber piece will.

dguzzardo22 04-14-2010 07:03 AM

silicone huh . sounds like it might work ... but where is that ebay link ??? i caint find it.?

CirrusSR22 04-14-2010 07:12 AM

Yeah, the silicone isn't the prettiest solution, but my car is basically a utility vehicle now. It's effective.

Here's the seller. It's Malaysia; knew it was somewhere in that part of the world. $6.50 shipped! That's cheaper than I remember they were a number of years ago. Being that cheap, I'd just buy the seals I suppose.

just ordered .. thanks now i ned a trunk seal and the 2 door seals ..

roadrash 04-14-2010 01:31 PM

From that E-bay page...
"These rubbers are not produced by BMW. If you do order from BMW, it comes with the door handle and will cost you even more. "

well that seems easy . just find a metal rod . push it , out comes the handle. replace seal . put handle in place . push rod back . and bam new seals .

Have you installed the seals yet? How did they fit?

spidertri 05-17-2010 12:57 AM

I ordered a set from the guy in Malaysia, they fit and look great. It is a super easy install too.

dguzzardo22 05-25-2010 05:23 AM

im wainting to paint my car then install them . is there a easy way to install them or no?

dguzzardo22 05-25-2010 05:27 AM

i still need the part number for the seal under the rear glass i caint find it anywhere..

roadrash 06-19-2010 12:31 AM

Just replaced the door handle seals today... super easy. A few thoughts that might be helpful:
  • The video in this thread shows what you need to do. The trick is getting to the sliding part. Luckily for us, there's a plastic plug in our doors that allows easy access to this part. Note that this plastic plug is in two parts. the outer part stays in the door and protects you from the sharp metal edge. The inner plug is the part that comes out. Once you look at it with this knowledge, you'll see what to do.
  • I read somewhere that a paint can opener (bottle cap opener loop on one end and a little hook on the other) would be a good tool for this. I didn't have one of those, but something like that would work really well. Basically anything with a short hook on the end so you can pull the sliding lever back into the closed/locked position.
  • The seals are not interchangeable. They're very close, but not exactly the same. I think there is a very small "R" and "L" on them, but if you don't see them, don't panic. Just try one seal and if it doesn't fit perfectly, try the other one.

Little more info on the replacement. The big hole goes on the side where the door lock is. If anyone is wondering, you do not have to pull the door panel off to do this. I used a allen key to pull the slider back to the locked position.

www.bmwfans.info has all your vehicle schematics and diagrams with part #'s just like the BMW dealership does you should be able to find any diagram or part # you want, it even tells u if the parts have beem discontinued, i find it very helpful

spidertri 06-28-2010 10:39 PM

Yeah, as mentioned earlier in the thread, realoem.com also provides the same service.

shooter1959 07-10-2010 05:48 PM

Just received the gaskets in the mail today. Took me more time to find a paint can opener in the garage than it did to replace these. Thanks for the vendor information and how-to.

dguzzardo22 07-10-2010 09:29 PM

so how do i buy if i find the parts i need on realoem ? dealer only ?

spidertri 07-10-2010 09:48 PM

Realoem gives you the part number and then you can use that at the dealer, getbmwparts, pelican, rmeuropean, ecs, etc.

dguzzardo22 07-20-2010 01:06 AM

are them prices dealer prices or no ? at realoem
