There's a DIY on changing I'm pretty sure but my best advice is do it from underneath with about 3ft of extensions and the e-torx socket, usually a couple 12" extensions get a little curve to them over that length and it's perfect to get up over the transmission to reach the bolts, when getting a new starter get one with threaded holes to make it easier. Good luck!! |
I agree with Romak, get the threaded. So much easier to put back! Just did mine. Also, its possible to destroy the flywheel if you wait to long by the starter sticking or partially engaging. Then you'll have larger issues. I bought a Bosch from advanced auto because it came with a lifetime warranty, 20% off and I'm a Bosch fan. |
