Emissions experience w/ NickG software After 2+ years with the standard DASC install (w/ AFPR and OEM s/w) I am looking into purchasing one of NickG's kits (stage 1, 2, or 3). Anyone have emissions testing experience with any of these upgrades? I just had my TI tested here in AZ, and all they did for a 1998 model was plug their computer into the OBD port with the car running. It passed with flying colors...I'm sure due to the original stock software. Before I invest in s/w upgrades, larger injectors and dump the AFPR, I want to make sure I don't have to swap everything back just to pass emissions testing. I sent Nick an email at the address on his website yesterday, but since it's the weekend, don't expect to hear back until Monday at the earliest. Any insights would be greatly appreciated... |
Basically all they are checking for is current and stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's), so you shouldn't have any trouble. |

In Maryland they just plug OBD-II cars in. No dyno or sniff test. I had 5 fault codes active all the time due to the conversion. Nick G wrote the faults out of the software and now I have a working CEL. That's all I needed to pass. |

I wish they made tuning software for you bmw guys like they do for the GM and Ford crowd. Who ever released it would be rolling in the cash, and alot of people would be pleased because they could change almost any parameter in the computer. |

When you get into technical stuff such as the computer you just have to educate yourself and start out by making changes in small increments. As for proper equipment DHP, HPtuners, Ls1edit, ect all provide "proper equipment for GM vehicles. They also highly recommend using a wideband o2 sensor. |
Diagnostic Codes Has anyone ever got a 0455 code. The reader says Evap Emission Control Leak, Large? Where can I find a list over all the codes? |
