M42/M44 same oil filter?
 
just wondering cause I got some M44 Mahle filters in the garage and I am wondering if I can use them.

They might it really depends on the production date of your car. Some M42 motors came with some M44 parts. Is you oil filter housing plastic or metal?

plastic, some housing as the 97.

10/95 is my production date.

plastic will use the M44 filters.

the metal top uses M42.

Club Sport Filter
 
The Club Sport uses the same filter as the M44.
