16 inch wheels are pretty inexpensive and so are 16 inch tires. That's the way to go if you're looking to upgrade the brakes to this rear set up and the 300mm front set up. Adding parts and spending money you don't need to to make 15 inch wheels sorta work would not be the path I chose.

True, always the voice of reason, so boring :tongue: , hahaha I just found it interesting that the rears fit for him.
Personally I just bought the m3 adapter for the rear, that way I can go with a factory bias with stock front and rear m3 brakes, and still only need to go 16" wheels.
Works for me. :biggrin: . . . . of course it will sit for a while as I gather other parts..*sigh*...

But! I'm looking at use in a rally car here in the states where the largest tire size is 15". However, the rally wheels are usually well clearanced for brakes. I've seen some examples of 300mm brakes fitting in other chassis. So there is a good chance it will work. Not the M3 with the 312, but the 128i.

I haven't put these on yet (not sure when I will have time), but I got the carriers from a 325XI at the local pick a part for $15. For calipers I went with E46 M3 because I was told they were apparently much more rigid, and because the pistons are a bit larger which should shift the bias more to the rear to balance out the M3 fronts. I may add in an adjustable proportioning valve so I can dial it in.

I just bought the rear 300mm vented rotors adapters! I will update when I eventually get them on.

update when you find out what offset you use to clear the 300mm rotors!

Bought the 300mm 128 adapters.

Used Z4 3.0si rear calipers and brackets. 128 300mm rotors did NOT fit for me. Ended up using smaller Z4 rotors.

First I was surprised , then looked at the SRS site again and for rotors it specifically mentions:

"-2 rotor from:
BMW 120I 2011
BMW 125I 2009-2012
BMW 128I 2008-2013"

Not the z4 rotor, for z4 it only mentions the caliper. :wink:

My adapters are still sitting until I need new tires, currently on 15" :confused:

I have my first track session in the ti tomorrow, but I already expect I'll be ordering these adaptors and upgrading the rears. Even during the pad bedding process I felt too much front bias (M3 front brakes/stock rear).

Am I correct that with the e82 rotors you get the parking brake, but with M3 rotors you do not?

Yes that is a correct assumption. I was pretty excited when I saw they offered the adapters to complete a full e36 m3 setup. I asked to confirm and it does seem like you loose your parking brake for the e36 m3 rear rotors/calipers. As my car is mostly a street car I opted for the non-M adapters in order to keep my parking brake.

Hi all,
Digging up an old thread here, but did anyone confirm if this kit fitted under 15"s? Just removed the abs out of the rallycar, and despite fitting a bias valve im struggling to get enough rear brakes. The gravel tyres i use are 15" so needing to find a solution that fits under ..

To add some more info, I can conclusively say (and as already mentioned above) the 128 rotors do not fit as the rotor sits about 6mm too far inwards. If you still want to use the slightly larger rotor, you'll have to back mount the adapter pieces and get ~16mm spacers for them as well along with some shallow head hex bolts (interference with the caliper bracket).

I spoke with Simon (srs-concepts) about the issue and he concurs with the problem. This ended up being my solution. I still need to get another caliper bracket because I shaved it down considerably trying to make it fit. But at some point it just became clear it wasn't going to work. I found some 20mm spacers and shaved them down to 18mm and the fit was perfect with the bracket swapped over to the back side.. You do need to remove most of the curved section of the backing plate for this as well.

Echoing what I said over a year ago. They don’t fit with the 128 rotors. I brought this to their attention with detailed photos and the solution last January. No one took the time or effort on their side to update the site or provide a solution. Meh

I bought mine when they first became available but didn't have a chance to mess with them until recently. In addition to the one car I have a second rear end and they wouldn't work on either. Simon was helpful and concerned, but I'm curious to hear if these really did work as intended for anyone out there. He seems to think there is more than one type of rear end. The part numbers don't seem to back that up, but obviously I can't prove that isn't the case.
