Testing Starter/solenoid How can I go about testing my starter with or without removing it from the car? Since it is a pain to remove, maybe I can test while installed? The car will not start and I only get clicks and lights dim when trying to start it up. I starter her up about a week ago to wash it then after that it completely died. Any ideas? Has anybody replaced one recently or in the past and has any great ideas to share, this would be the perfect time to. lol 98 Auto |

i've heard this actually doesn't occur with newer cars, but why the heck test fate? as far as "testing" the starter, the best place to do it is while it's attached to the motor. what kind of sound are you getting, or is nothing happening at all? do your dash lights go on when you turn the key to accessory position? prd318ownr, is it running now? |
yes good to go... sucks i couldnt just do it myself. but its cool.. thanks for the help everyone.. |
