Difference between base, active and sport?

Basically, I would like to know the difference between the base, active and sport models. Which models and which years have the vented rotors? Other than a stiffer suspension, better seats and wheels, is there any mechanical differences between the base and sport versions? I plan on upgrading the suspension when I purchase a ti anyway. I am currently looking at a 96 base model. Is the transmission gearing or differential different?
Thanks

Cosmetic changes differ from 94-96 and 97-99.
Vented rotors start 4/98.
Diffs are different. The manual diff is a 3.45. Auto is 4.44.
