Delivery recommendations for motor swap on pallet
 

I'm looking to purchase an M52 or S52 (from oil pan and up) pretty soon from a bfc forum member in Connecticut. I have to figure out how I would want it shipped and delivered. I am considering conway, R+L carriers, or any other delivery service of that kind.

Anyone have any suggestions/recommendations on who to go to, and how much to expect to pay? I would like it to be delivered to my residence.

anyone have a motor delivered from up north to the MAR? thanks

As long as the carrier delivers the engine in a truck with a liftgate, you'll be fine. Make sure you check the engine out very well before signing off!

Oh yeah, I'll have a checklist, so the driver better be ready to park it hard.

I got a quote for 226.12 also, free lift-gate service, and I'm going to see if I can borrow an crane from my brothers fellow employee

I've had a few experiences with carriers where I specified shipping to a "residential" address, which normally specifies a lift gate, and have them show up with a full size 18 wheeler and no lift gate. I remember that one time I actually had to pay extra for a lift gate and still had a truck without one show up. I would suggest you call up and try to triple check that they know what you want.

R+L carriers offer free lift gate services with their LTL deliveries. LTL should fit through here, they better not bring no 18 wheeler.

honestly man, i'd go rent the homedepot pickup truck for a day. cost you $100 + $150 in gas or so tops. and you get to make sure its handeled properly, etc.

2 dudes can lift it probably unless you're scrawny or have a bad back...

I wish you could drive it down, but you might swap it in your ti yourself LOL!

we made it about 4 feet and put it on a creeper

I live with 4 brothers/former football players, and I'm the youngest haha so we'll see how far we get if I don't have a hoist to hall it. :tongue:

You'll be fine. My dad and I (not football players by any means ;)) lifted a M50 and carried it with no problem. The head was off, so it was that weight less, but it aint that heavy. I lifted it into the car headless with a scrawny mexican guy.

naw, im not looking to swap right now. my ti is my commuter. putting an m3 motor in there would be totally counter productive.
requires premium gas, and eats more of it.
neither of which i want.

i talked to a buddy about this tonight, and he's in to drive down with me if you're serious. I have access to an engine hoist too, so we can load it in the truck with it and unload it too. it folds up, so it should fit with the motor and all.

$500, hand delivered :) i like road trips :)
