Hey, that list is looking pretty good! I hope we really get this on a roll...Maybe we can have our own section, like the SoCal guys

BMW_Hatchback 09-06-2008 03:51 AM

those SoCal guys think they're so coooooooo0ool

they are.

trickiekid 09-06-2008 03:07 PM

I know that there are a few more that could be added.
Now I have a question, Who drives the hellrot around westminister? I saw that you had black rims with a silver lip. This must have been a few weeks back.

bullmand 09-06-2008 07:17 PM

You can add me to the list as well. I travel quite a bit for work so I'm not always around, but I'll make it when I can. I've also been seeing what seems like more tis than usual in the Catonsville/Baltimore/Ft Meade area lately. I think most of them are people that are not on here. We'll have to see what we can do about that.

trickiekid 09-06-2008 07:30 PM

I was waiting for you to find this thread Bullman. Now Gimp just needs to find this...

bullmand 09-08-2008 04:07 AM

I'm actually on the road right now and I can't always get on the internets. I wanted to go the meet, but I was out here. Did you get new wheels? I thought I saw you on post the other day with some new bling.

trickiekid 09-08-2008 10:19 AM

I haven't seen you around in a while, but yeah I have seen a few new ti's in the area. I actually bought two new sets a few months ago. I don't know what I was thinking when i bought chrome wheels. I wish that I was drunk when I did so that I would have somewhat of an excuse. And I bought a set of e38 style 5's. I really needed them. Gimp was telling me about an event coming up at the end of the month in Bowie, you going to be back in time?

gimp 09-09-2008 03:50 AM

Yup, I'm in the area too.

The autocross is next weekend at the BaySox Stadium. I'll be there running my ti, and my girlfriend will be running her Fit.

themightyquinn 09-09-2008 05:22 AM

Hey gimp, what details do you have on that event? I was looking for a website but couldn't find one.

Thanks bud!

2ndBimmer 09-09-2008 01:10 PM

Hey guys! I live near the Airport!!!

http://www.capitaldrivingclub.com/

That's the website for the group putting it on. Registration for non-members opens on the 19th, incase a few other ti's want to come out and play.

trickiekid 09-09-2008 04:07 PM

HOw much is registration and will they have loaner helmets?

gimp 09-09-2008 04:34 PM

There will be loaner helmets.

"SATurday September 27th Autocross

We're back at the Bowie Baysox Stadium in Bowie, MD for this event.

Registration and tech inspection will be at 8:00 and will promptly close at 8:45 to try to accommodate the full field, while still giving 6 runs. You must be DONE by 8:45. So if you arrive at 8:00 you won't have a problem. Don't arrive at the last minute. If you don't get teched and registered by 8:45, you will lose your morning runs.

The event fee for the SATurday autocross is $25 for members and $35 for non-members at this event.

Reservations

Member reservations (or participants that will join the club upon showing up) for any events can be made at any time (see Schedule Section at www.capitaldrivingclub.com ). Open reservations for non-members for this event begin Friday September 19th.

Accepting New Members

We will also be accepting new members at this event. Annual dues are $30 (12 months from the date you join the club). This event will be the last time in 2008 that we will be taking new members. We will be on a membership freeze until further notice (probably until May 2009).

So if you are joining at this event, you may reserve your slot now. Just use “0” as your member number and type, “I will be joining the club at this event” in the Notes Section in on-line reservation system.

Otherwise, non-members must wait until Friday September 19th to make your reservation."

themightyquinn 09-09-2008 05:06 PM

Word. Sounds like fun, and not that far away either.

I've never auto-x'd before, so hopefully they have some sort of beginner class...

There is no class, but there are "instructors" available. My suggestion is to find someone to ride with you for at least the morning session. If I'm available, I'd be happy to do it.

I'll get there nice and early to help anyone who wants to try. I'd love to get a few ti's out there.

spidertri 09-09-2008 09:44 PM

Guys I don't mean to be a d-bag but can we keep this thread to people adding themselves to the list?

I am actually very interested in autocrossing also, Gimp could you make a new thread about it?

bullmand 09-11-2008 07:01 AM

I'll be back in town by then, but I don't know if I'll be able to make that or not yet.

sturge 10-07-2008 02:05 PM

Hey all, I am fairly new to actually using this site and live in Hanover, MD (near the airport). Just wanted to add my name to the list of TIs in the area.

Cool! Check out http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=23792 for the next meet/photoshoot/cruise.

It would still be cool if there was someone else from VA, so we could change the name from MAR to um, something else...until then, I guess I'm one of the MD guys.

spidertri 10-07-2008 07:09 PM

Bobby, just so you know, MAR stands for Mid Atlantic Region. Do you really think I would use a name that would exclude you? I got you covered.:smile:

BobbyDigital 10-07-2008 07:19 PM

Ahhh, well dont I feel sheepish...Well, that works then!

Xenocide 10-07-2008 07:27 PM

BobbyDigital 10-07-2008 07:31 PM

Well, maybe that region isnt as cool as ours...

spidertri 10-07-2008 07:51 PM

It's not, we just can't make it look like we are trying to steal their members.

trickiekid 10-08-2008 01:34 AM

Ok, I have seen a hellrot ti with a bra running around here, who's is it. Last time i saw you you were at the rt 175, rt1, and i95 cluster...

BobbyDigital 10-08-2008 09:47 PM

hey guys, I should let you know...I'm in college park right now, playing disc golf at Calvert park(?)...I just saw a 95-96 boston green ti leave here...I'm writing this from my treo, so if you guys are around, I have some time to kill, call me (804) 263-1793...Bobby

themightyquinn 10-09-2008 01:30 AM

Yo Bobby, nice meeting you today. Hit us up again if you're in the area.

For anyone else interested, I'll be checking out some spots in Annapolis for a photo op on Friday. I'll post pics over the weekend.

Not new to the area- but new to having a ti! I just got a '97 M-Sport, and I'm looking forward to meeting more ti cult people!

Don't know why this doesn't seem to be mentioned here, but CCA socials make a great meetup. The club meets once a month in at a restaurant in Columbia, and it subsidizes beer and pizza! Everyone gets together an hour or so before hand to hang out and check out each others cars. Next one is next week on thursday. I'd love to see more ti's there!

RedDog 06-03-2009 04:15 AM

I am also game for something, especially in the VA area. Don't worry BobbyDigitial you are not alone in Richmond.
