race / drag times !!! so lost okay, okay, i know i might just be crazy. but im reading stories and threads here and everyone is like my ti rips, and im not doubting that. i love the compactness (?) of the ti and for a 4 banger its got balls, but has anyone tracked it, like drag? post some times up here, im interested, also post what kinda ti. i got the low end of the ti, active automatic....i know not interesting, but im headed to the track (island speedway, nj) in a few weeks. so im trying to see if i can show some bubble backs up or what?! thanks guys, just trying to have some fun here. |
Most bubbles and most honda's will beat you even if they are not swapped, they are light and very easy to work with. |
okay.... i got you... but not my point here haha |
non-swapped, non-FI Ti's are probably up in the 14/15sec range and higher. They are not fast or even quick cars for drag racing. I road race mine, I can do a 2:42 and some change around Sebring at 3.7miles. I run NASA TTE, and I'm 100# over my minimum weight and still have some things I can do to the car to make it more competitive in class. Top prepared TTE cars that are well drivin can run under 2:40's. Class record is a 2:37 something, but that car is no longer considered legal for TTE. I did however take first place and second place a few weeks ago in a field with 6 other competitors, so i feel good about that. So even highly modified and classed appropriately, the Ti is not a fast car with the 4-banger. The lack or torque through most of the RPM range is an issue. It is still a fun car to drive. |
