Any ideas?

Ok so i just bought a 97 black 318ti and the only thing i really can afford to do with it right now is installing a new exhaust. I really don't want to be too ergonomic with it, basically want it as loud as it can be and stay legal... I also don't want it to sound like a ricer, i'd prefer a sporty sound! Any ideas?? Thanks -John

Legal and loud? I don't know.

Loud I'd go with Brosal <sp?>
Sweet I'd go with Supersprint.

ok thanks does Brosal make any certain exhausts that are for the 318?

John318ti 07-20-2008 05:53 AM

oh and i think its Bosal???

minicoop900 07-20-2008 05:58 AM

yeah, most people on here are doing the Bosal Brospeed i think

John318ti 07-20-2008 06:07 AM

Alright thanks... Any idea how many horses that would add?

minicoop900 07-20-2008 06:12 AM

i dont think much, exhaust and intake dont do much for the m44s, but it does add a little

John318ti 07-20-2008 06:16 AM

Ok thanks that is very helpful... I just bought the car and really don't know much about it yet... oh another question... any idea about speaker size? the front ones are crappy and have a rattle to them, and the rear ones are completely blown

minicoop900 07-20-2008 06:27 AM

fronts are normal 5 1/2s
rears are special to bmw, but there are ways around it:

John318ti 07-20-2008 06:32 AM

minicoop900 07-20-2008 06:34 AM

no problem, oh and dont quote e on the 5 1/2, but they are 5 somethings, im just not sure exact size

John318ti 07-20-2008 06:55 AM

ok i just found a site that said the 4" MB-Quart stealth mount speaker would fit in the rear... any idea on that?

minicoop900 07-20-2008 07:01 AM

in the write-up they say the MB quartz size 4t fits

minicoop900 07-20-2008 07:08 AM

the brospeed has actually been discontinued as a cat-back for the 318ti, a member on here (pnosker) is selling his I believe, but there are a couple people who have already called dibs on it
