ANTHONY, Fla. -- An 18-year-old driver who lost control during an apparent high-speed joy ride, killing himself and four others at an airstrip runway, sought advice online how to make his high performance vehicle go even faster, Local 6 reported Sunday...

It's sad but it was his choice to remove it, to bad his friends had to pay for his actions.

Sad for the passengers and their families but what the hell was an 18yo doing driving a new M5 at 3:30 in the morning? Shame on is parents cuz they're the one's responsible here. They are lucky he was a legal adult and not 17.

He was either a spoiled brat, or his parents trusted him enough to drive it around. But bet you they didn't know that he had removed it. That's why his parents should of restricted the use of that car to him.

damn thats just stupid if you are going to be stupid do it where you wont hurt others!

zboot 01-29-2008 05:25 PM

I'd think that's why he and his friends were on a runway at 3 in the morning. They were doing something stupid where the only people they could harm were themselves.

Yeah, I saw this on BF.C yesterday, sad story. It really raises a ton of questions

that is terible !!

$82,000 ... Wasn't it fast enough without the governer taken off?

that reminds me. .. One of my buddies got an Evo. I took it for a quick spin, just to the top of second gear. That car is too fast. About a centemeter difference between driving normally and tearing through gears. Another friend of a friend hit his limiter last weekend.. at 175mph. Cars shouldn't be so damn fast stock.

I hope his parents feel great. I bet they're very proud of their yuppie lifestyle and their murdering son's achievements.

Dibs on the motor and tranny!

I ain't gonna lie, when I was 18 I would've given my left nut for an M5 and I probably would have done the same thing. Just a poor decision on his part and I'm sure his parents contributed to his misfortune by buying him the car. I will say that I'd never do that with passengers in my car though. Fortunately for me, I was on an aircraft carrier in the middle of the pacific when I was his age. Launching Tomcats was enough excitement for me.

thesk8nmidget 01-29-2008 11:45 PM

yeah i would have loved to had that car. and i would have most likely pushed the limits too but i dont think i would have tried going anywhere near the limit with anyone but myself in the car.

if he was just leaving a party the kid or passengers could have been drunk and egging him on to just floor it but with the whole looking up the limiter before seems like he planned to go that fast or try

elchicano 01-29-2008 11:48 PM

He planed it out and knew what exactly he wanted to do. That's why he was looking it up. I too would love to have had a M5. I'm happy I got a POS for my first car, i learned alot from it and at the ended up hitting a parked car.
