joined this forum and don't even have the car yet INTRO....

be gentle please....

this shows how desperate i am to have one. I've been on the hunt for a few months now and haven't found "the one" i'd drop a coin on. I'm on craigslist almost every day. Preferably bone stock. Preferably silver. Must be manual. I know i know.... good luck right?

I'm currently on Preludepower.com, Clubroadster.net, RAV4world.com and this one. I have even joined a few 318ti forums on FB. My email is handballallday@hotmail.com if anyone of you would like to send a friend request. Name is James and i'm from NYC Queens. I've had a handful of cars which included a 89 Escort wagon, 92 Nissan Stanza, 93 Mit Eclipse, 94 Del Sol(auto), 94 Prelude S(auto), and currently in my stable is a 91 Miata(weekend cruise) and a 96 5-speed 2dr RAV(daily schmaily).

Well onward to the pics because everyone loves pics. BTW, if anyone has a lead on a clean bone stock manual 318ti with a decent amount of miles for a somewhat kinda sorta decent price in the tri-state let me know please. Thanks!

Welcome.

If you're still looking in the summer, I'm willing to let go of mine. It isn't exactly what you're looking for since it isn't stock, nor silver, but it is much cleaner than what you'll find on Craigslist. I have an ad listed on Bimmerforums that shows the car's current condition. The photos I have on here are a little old.

hmmm would certainly be interested. Manual? Color? Mileage? Is it on craigslist?

Dude, the Rav4 has a Denver Boot in one of those pics. AWESOME!
Welcome to the Org.
Once you get into your first 318ti...you're going to love it.

HAHA thank you! The boot on the RAV was for ****sNgiggles but i do keep two boots on the Miata.

again.... thanks for the warm welcome. I actually wanted to ask you and BlackBMWs what do you guys think of the E36 325i coupe? My buddy has one and he absolutely loves it. I actually love E36 coupes and have always considered one in the back of my mind.

I personally don't care for speed or power hence why i really want a 318ti and also the fact that they are rare(to me). I happen to come across this one on CL last night. My buddy said it's a damn good price w/ low miles and that i should go pick it up. What do you guys think?

side note.... i love the price, miles, and how clean it is but i really really want a 318ti!!!!

BlackBMWs 01-28-2015 04:54 PM

I like the styling on the coupes, but just happen to like the TIs better if I am considering a two seater. (I use Sedans or other vehicle if I need to carry more than two folks regularly). The hatch and drop down seats are a little more practical for me. I know I can look for a coupe with fold down rear seats, just not the same.

What I do like about the Coupe straight off is the increased power, but not enough to get one at this point. I have a 540it for that sort of fun.

Good luck in finding one. It'll happen. I wonder if you'd like a Cali.

whoops i forgot to post the CL ad. Here it is BlackBMWs. Let me know what you honestly think? $2k seems too good to be true for such a clean low mileage 325i. As if something may be wrong with it.

I have very little in the way of knowledge surrounding the coupes and sedans. I'm sure that it will be a joy to own and modify, as many have done it in the past.
Two things I see in this ad that worry me. Boy racer stickers and a child car seat. Kids destroy the interiors of cars. And, Boy racers destroy the outside. I could be wrong...these are simply opinions. lol

+1! For sure..... Looks clean. I like the Chivas pouch as a shifter boot. I wager the airbox is swapped out for a AM cone filter. Worth a look. For the 94 325i Sedan my son and I renewed to solid shape, it ran us just under $3k which was inclusive of the shell. We replaced motor, tranny, suspension and wheels.

I'll remove all my stickers before I sell one.

your observational skills have come a long way young Jedi. HAHA thanks. All of that makes absolute sense. And yes whether it's a 325i coupe or a 318ti(definitely leaning towards this one), it will be another simple modded weekend joyride.

i can already picture my hopefully silver 318ti dropped on H&R springs and Borbet Type A's with meaty tires.

man that just sounds awesome to enjoy wrenching with your son and building a car at that!!! Was it for him? Do you guys still have it?

BlackBMWs 01-28-2015 10:57 PM

Ha, yes it was for him. I purchased a 94 325i for $500 with a blown head gasket and a broken auto transmission, but a clean body and interior and most every option that could be had on it when he was 15 1/2. Our summer project was to get it ready for his 16th birthday. We got great deals on a rebuilt M50 w/12k miles, a reman auto with 17k miles and a Bilstien sport setup with H&R sport springs. It's going on 5 years since that rebuild and it still runs strong.

Always cool to do things with your kids. I don't want them to be helpless about things, car mechanical stuff included. 😎.
