New guy looking to get into a ti

Hello all members. I have been kinda lurking around the site and now looking to get a ti of my own. Want to put together a car I can drive to work and drive it on the autocross track on the weekends. I have been into bikes for a long time but now with 2 kids the wife thinks it's time to get a car she thinks its safer lol. My original plan was to build a miata for this. But I have always wanted an m3 bmw. Over the summer I was on vacation and saw a 318ti m-sport car and was hooked. Now I want a ti more than ever. First things first I have to sell my sport bike. And now I really want a ti to do an ls swap in. My friend has an e36 m3 with an ls1 and I love that car. But I feel a to with an ls would be even better. So any help with finding a ti in pa. Preferably a standard shift body has to be decent. Would love to do a straight trade for my custom bike. Thanks in advance for any help.

I will keep my eyes open and let you know. PA has a decent amount of Ti's, so don't jump on the first one that you see.

A Ti with a LS is great fun. Not sure if you are planning to swap the motor too, but just check with a local mechanic for the rules for emissions and swapped motors if you don't already know them. Each county has different rules.

The LS swap isn't awful, but they are hard to find. They only came on certain 95's. Very rare (if any) on non-95 318ti's.

Also, the 318ti isn't amazing in the snow, so just a heads up.

Other than that, the 318ti is awesome. Best of luck.

Hey thanks. When I talk about an ls swap I mean an ls1 v8 out of a late model gto. And I'm not scared of the snow I have my truck for that. This will be my everyday car except bad weather days. The problem is now I drive a v-10 3/4 ton truck everyday back and fourth to work and it cost me around 500 a month in gas alone. So my thought is get a ti and play with that even with an ls1 I would still be doing better than I am now. I would even consider doing an lm7 5.3 swap just to keep the cost of the build down. I still have a house an 2 kids to pay for and my family comes before my toys. So this will be a slow build that's why I'm good with just a stock running car for now. I will have every part ready and in place before I do anything to the car. This way there will be very little down time.
