All stock, I quit wasting money on feeding stereo thieves a long time ago...

My jeep has one in a steel welded box so it does not walk away...

Dual head unit- shoddy yet its workign just fine!
All stock internals will be replacing the rear mids soon wiht the upgrade and possibly installing a two more in the deck??
also wanted to buy a pair of the HK tweeters and mids that go in the doors and have 4 on each side!? lol we shall see about that.
Memphis audio 1000x1 rms @ 1 ohm to two kicker cvr's bridged to 1 ohm
0 gauge wiring deep cycle battery( Upgraded alternator to come).
its loud enough for now! lol

ROCKFORD FOSGATE POWER Speakers 4" Back, stock front

JVC KD-AVX2 Exad Mobile In-Dash DVD/CD Player Receiver with 3.5" Screen

used to have this but not a big fan of the bass so i just took all that out
ROCKFORD FOSGATE PUNCH P2 10" (2)

ROCKFORD FOSGATE Amp PUNCH P400-2

ROCKFORD FOSGATE POWER Speakers 5.25" Front

Isis07 01-20-2010 02:19 PM

Alpine-9885 Headunit

BSW mids/tweeters up front (in the door panels)
6.5" Pioneers in the rear (replacing the 4t)

Infinity 600w amp -> 1 Rockford Fosgate P2 10" sub

The Fosgate is a bit punchy for my taste but it's better than no bass. Plus the price was right.

Shellback 02-01-2010 03:28 AM

Can I install 6.5 in the front kick panel? I believe the stock fitment was 5.25.

Would there be much cutting involved, or something simple I can do with a dremel tool.
Thanks

wolferj-RIP 02-01-2010 04:07 AM

In the middle of upgrading my audio;

HU: BMW CD43 business (Huge improvement!)
Rear: Boston Acoustic components -6.5" mids and 1" tweeters
Kickpanel: 5.5" MB Quartz mid-bass
Doors: still searching for the right replacement units

No sub, I like (and use) my hatch space too much... :)

I am going to be replacing my kick panel speakers tomorrow, I will see how much work would be involved...

Wolf,
Same HU here too. However, I haven’t permanently installed the CD43 yet due to fitment issues. Seems like the deeper I slide the unit in :rolleyes:
the A/C panel seems to also sink in. Maybe HU wire harness need to be tucked in or ensure it is all clear before pushing the rest of the HU in.

Definitely looking forward to what is entailed in modifying the kick panel to fit the 6.5.
Thanks again.

has nothing to do with battery, means your alternator is not good enough.

capacitors do nothing once again. :wink: I am glad you think you know what you are doing, but I am an electrical engineer and I REALLY know how it works
