That's right guys! Whilst some of you are hard at work finding your next engine for your conversion to a 328 or an m3 engine (yeah I know its an s52 before anyone gets smart) the boys at Bobby Murray chevorolet are hard at work witht eh latest conversion of mine! Thats right, putting my car back to being a 318ti!

Some of you may remember a post I made a month ago putting all my parts up for sale when the insurance company decided to repair it. Sorry again. If you didn't see the before pictures here is a link:

Well attached is a few images the good folks have sent me of the progress being made on the car as of right now.

Hope you enjoy.

I say leave the fender and bumper off, don't paint the door and just drive it around like that:rockon:, lol, but that's just me

I love pics like that, thanks for posting.

Yeah! One getting saved! I was getting bummed at the "totalled my 'ti" posts this past summer.

Nice work, Chuck. :)

chuckrussell 10-31-2007 07:22 PM

haha yeah the insurance company kept changing their mind on it. I kept getting sad when they said they would total it but eventually they just decided to fix it. Thank god haha.

Nice to be back guys!

Acttually I know the guy who is doing the work and he is pretty much amazing. He has done some of the best work I have ever seen and everything from brand new cars to '67 mustang fastbacks. Now obviously the mustang is not anywhere near the same as the glory of the 318, but if someone can trust a 100,000+ dollar car to be completely restored by him, I can trust him with my 5000 car.

And it helps that I date his daughter...and she is hot.

Steel is steel; any body shop can work on a BMW.

Nice work on the daughter.

:useless:

Photos or ban!

 Hey, you know somebody was going to say it, might as well be me. LOL

Seriously though... congrats on not having to total the car! Do you have any plans for the re-paint? I.e., are you staying with the original color, or might you change it?

LSB FTW!

I want to keep it that artic silver. Its such a cool color for the BMW 3 series. I also have a dark grey motorsport flag for the front left side.

I'll be honest, after driving a chevy for the past month I can't wait until I get back in the Ti

OK guys its time for an update!

Should get her back from the chop shop thursday. The boys at Bobby Murray have been doing an amazing job and the work is ridiculously clean. Take a look at the last picture (its still crumpled a little but being hit at 55 mph tends to cause those permanent damages)

Anyways I should be back on the road anytime now!

glad to see you know someone in the biz to make sure it gets done right and that you'll be back on the road soon!
