Has anyone executed on an e30 intake swap?

I do not own an 318ti, so forgive me. I own an e21 and Im swapping an e36 M42 in to the e21. The E36 is off of a July 1995 BMW, so it is OBD1.

Very long story short, I feel like the e36 intake manifold is a bit too large for my engine bay. I want to swap over to the e30 intake manifold which would give MUCH more room.
The E36 harness has knock sensors that I'd like to use if I ever go to F.I. Plus it'd be kinda cool to do because why not?

Just to note, I have a full e30 M42 in parts (Maybe 2 engines worth of parts lol)

I took a few snaps comparing the two: https://imgur.com/a/0clWl

I learned a few things so far:
First, the E36 injectors are much larger than the e30 injectors so I would have to swap the fuel rail.
However, it appears the e30 bosch fuel rail fits right in to the fuel rail harness. woo hoo!

Second, it appears that the E36 injectors actually flow slower than the E30 injectors so perhaps it'd be step up?

Im not sure about the DISA and all the other stuff, but at first glance, I think I can make it work.

The only thing that is stopping me is that I *have* to chip my ECU to delete the EWS-II setup.
I dont wanna do this and realize it wont work. Sorry, super long post for a question.

Has anyone swapped to the E30 intake and E30 fuel rail with success?
