m3 front bumper i have a 1996 318ti, my sis mest up my front bumper so im buying a new one i was thinking the m3 front bumper look.. what do i need for a bumper conversion and where can i get it... show me some bumpers. im new at this so i really dont know how to change a bumper is it difficult or do i need to go to a bodyshop. |
well if you want a M3 front bumper it is really easy to change. first of all, if you go to ddmtuning.com you can check them out. its about $100 or so for a primered M3 bumper. second, depending were in california you live you may be able to pick it up to skip the shipping charges. They have two location, one in San Diego and the other in Huntington Beach. There are only 4 bolts that hold the bumper and place as well. its a direct bolt up which are located behind the bumper moldings. If you're local i'll be glad to help you out. |
DDM's website says they are currently out of stock. You could do bavtoys.com as well. The prices are similar. |
similar prices? i saw a 100 dollar difference w/o shipping included... bavtoys are 194 and ddm are 100.. so i dont see much similarities in that price the only thing is that ddm charges u 50 for shippin if im not wrong and bavtoys charge u 25 |
On DDM it actually says 149 when you click the link instead of 100 I dunno why. so that would be 149 +(50 shipping) versus 194 + (25 shipping). pretty similar imo |
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1418410 You might want to wait, DDM has sales and drops the prices all the time. I got my M bumper for $75 + $50 ship back in December. FWIW, I would never buy anything from BavToys/Umnitza. Their customer service practices are a joke. |
i do rather wait i hope i dont have to wait for hella long, does the ddm bumper come complete with everything i need or do i need new clips ? btw thanks for the help! |
wait wait...http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p...id=73&parent=0 this ones it right? does it come with the grill, molding and lip? |
Yes, it comes with everything except a US plate mount. You can get that at the dealer. |

This is what I'm talking about. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/diagrams/u/x/221.png You can buy the light assemblies (with the mounting hardware as shown in the above diagram) on ebay for around 50 bucks if you don't have them. You may also need to get number 15 (from the below diagram) these are the mounts for the driving (fog) lights. These are not in the fog light kit and they are not the same between the M3 and the ti bumpers. The aftermarket bumper that I installed didn't include these parts, you may want to double check (they are cheap). I suppose you don't need the ducts but if you don't have them you will have some open holes in your bumper and the L/H duct holds the ambient air temp probe. Ducts are number 20 in the below diagram. They are about $20-$25 each and you can get them from pelican parts dot com. 20 FRONT LEFT BRAKE AIR DUCT M TECHNIC 51712233361 20 FRONT RIGHT BRAKE AIR DUCT M TECHNIC 51712233362 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/diagrams/x/g/5.png |
