Bitter but very Sweet.

So this is a bit late but i figured I would post this up as I am a very lucky person, and so is my Fiance'.

Two weeks ago my Fiance' was driving with her friend down a moderatly major road, When some woman on her phones decides to make a LEFT into oncoming traffic 20-30 ft in front of my Fiance' while she was going 50 mph.

Needless to say it was bad, Mostly for the car thank god! the little Ti saved her and her friends life, even after she swered as much as possible to take the hit on her side instead of her friends, In the end My Fiance' walked away with a broken hip socket on her right side (From slamming the brakes) and a small gash on her head somewhere in the hair, Her friend only had a sprained ankle. Now the Girl is out of the hospitol and learning to walk again, should be about three months before she is able to drive as well, and the only mark is going to be one scar on her leg. I owe that car alot and I am going to miss it, it was my First actual Car(Not some Junker) and it was the car I learned how to do most of my work on.

As an added part the worst part about this was this whole time, I have been and I still am in the middle of the Ocean I was travelling east to Rotterdam, and I am now on my way back State Side. I finally get to see her after 35 days and a big mess but she is alive and for that I am thankful, to the car and to whomever or what ever was watching over her cause there was something there.

Thanks for reading guys and stay safe!

I know this is worthless without a pic so here you go.

Cars are replaceable, people are not. Glad she and her friend made it through with as few injuries as they did. It sure looks like it could have been a lot worse!

What happened to the other driver and car?

teetime4one 04-15-2012 03:14 PM

damn dude...this story is terrible. i'm glad to hear that your GF and her friend are going to be okay.

Bozola 04-15-2012 03:35 PM

Good luck in her recovery. Sorry to hear.

Always amazed at the Ti's crash performance. I am glad she was driving it. I am happy that my kid drives one. Amazing cars.

The Other driver, and the two friends were fine they were in a BIG jeep the new 4 door wrangler I believe, it was tottalled as well but they had no injuries at all. they didn't even come out and ask if my fiance' and her friend were alright after they watched her get pulled from the car. Insurance and police report put full fault on the other driver atleast as it should be.

She is due to make a full recovery in 3 months time. A long time to basically not be able to leave your house at all. Hopefully the incision will heal well and not leave to big a scar as well, one of the more minor things i know but that will be the only permanent thing left from this and for that i am thankful.

I have no doubt the car itself saved her life, minus the force of the impact being transferred through the brake pedal, and into her hip she has no other injuries just some bumps and bruises.

That car can take a hit and dish it out, i just wish i was home to save some parts for my black one!

Gonna miss that car, but it's a valuable lesson like Cali said Life is precious, anything can happen at any moment, and this was actually a deciding factor for me to change my career too much happens when you are away for a month or two at a time.

Paul.

I totaled my 1998. Extremely well built cars.
Wrecking a car gives you an appreciation for these cars and life.
You can always get another car. Can't get another life.

Only beef I have now is she wants an 06 CTS-V -.- those cars have some serious bushing problems, and she will probably beat me in a straight line now..so not cool.

slow_ti 04-15-2012 04:05 PM

Damn. Sorry to hear that. Glad she is ok. The Ti took a hard hit. Damn jeeps..

BlackBMWs 04-15-2012 06:18 PM

Wow, that was a hard hit. I'm glad she is recovering, it could have been much worse.

Not the Jeeps fault, it's the driver's fault behind the wheel... I got rear ended in my 318ic last year by a guy texting on his phone. Not sure how this growing problem of phones/texting will be addressed effectively moving forward.

I do know I am much more mindful as far as what the person behind me is paying attention to. Sadly, I still see folks on their handsets or looking down as if they are texting...

She is surely recovering if she is looking for her next car!

Heh, thanks guys.

Can't wait for her to get better so we can start wrenching on the cars again.

Yes she does like to work on cars with me and allows me to whenever i wan't.

tiFreak 04-16-2012 05:14 AM

J!m 04-16-2012 02:53 PM
