Possible Group Buy? Great now that i got your attention read up. Is anyone interested in a group buy for the UUC Flywheel 8.5# Stage 2 Flywheel? Understeer sells them for $599 including free shipping but maybe with a GB we can get it cheaper directly from UUC, understeer, or any other bf.c forum. Is anyone interested? Now there is a catch. "You will need An E36 non-M3 clutch slave cylinder. You will also need an E34 M5 clutch kit." - understeer.com I was thinking one of two things. If you got sufficient funds, we can get a GB for the Flywheel & M5 clutch. It will be a total off $1098.00 BEFORE the GB price. This is coming from understeer.com. Or We just get the flywheel and you get your clutch and slave cyl. elsewhere when you get your funds, hook ups, or whatever. I want to know how many interests there are before i start calling up businesses. Let me know whos interested so i can go ahead and sell my car for this  1.) Hugo - Flywheel for now. If i sell my car before hand then ill get the Flywheel and clutch combo. http://understeer.com/onlinestore-drivetrain.shtml BTW, i know its in wrong section but hey, steve doesnt let me post else where. |
Have you discussed this with Rob @ UUC? |

Isn't this forum so SoCal events only? Follow the rules.. And an 8.5# flywheel on a street car would be horrible.. I'd pay big money to see you trying to get that car moving from a stop light and constantly stalling it.. |

He has helped me out in the past. Do us both a favor don't bother him with this. I don't want to ruin our friendship. |
Oh man, your GB isn't doing so hot Hugo... lol. |

Hmmm.. That is weird because I never mentioned the weight of any m3 or m5 parts.. I was more so talking about your inability to properly drive a car. I still don't think having an ultralight flywheel is a good idea on a street car. There comes a point when doing the lightest fastest thing out there doesn't really help the driveability of the car. May make it perform better, but to me performance is not everything in a daily driver. I like my daily driver to drive well. I've driven plenty of performance cars with lightweight flywheels to know that I don't like the really really light flywheels on a daily driver... And I don't suggest anything to you, I've learned a long time ago that it doesn't matter because you don't have the ability to comprehend. As for the rules, in this case I think they should be followed. You were banned to this section of the forum only for a reason. |

I have never had a light flywheel but the thing people forget. . . As fast as the revs go up, that's how fast they come down. If you are doing heel and toe, you better be good and quick. |
Oh look, he already has a GB running... http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...light=flywheel The 318 isn't listen but the 325 uses the same tranny as the 318. FWIW - I have a lightweight flywheel on my 318ti. I used an OEM alternative that is many pounds lighter (and MUCH cheaper). It's nice, but it chatters a bit. It revs faster and drops revs MUCH faster. Boost is dependent on revs...so you better be quick. And...this is the one everyone wants: http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/flywheel/LFWLE36SH.htm |
Great. Let's consider this closed and I suggest people go to the bf.c thread. Why reinvent the wheel. |
