Wont start!! HELP So my 318ti will not start, we replaced the starter, fuel filter, and fuel pump with brand new ones...but all it does now is crank but no start If we put starting fluid in it it will start for maybe 1 second then just cut off.... So what's the deal? And NOW what do i need to check? It has spark if that helps |

Pump relay and fuses are good, i can hear the fuel pump and the gas guage is accurate with the amount of gas i just put in |
Have you checked fuel pressure? You could have a bad regulator or crushed fuel line and no actual fuel hitting the cylinders. Check all fuses also as you could have one blown that isn't opening the fuel injectors. |
A bad (cut) inline-fuse gave me the exact same symptoms. |

Oh really? What do you mean in-line fuse? |

Yeah it's definitely getting pressure, fuel is going through, and all fuses are good, so what could that mean i just have bad injectors? |

If you are getting full fuel pressure to the injectors and nothing past, then you have something electrical keeping the fuel injectors from sending fuel into the cylinders. Since you sated that it would start and run a bit when you shot starter fluid into the intake, I'm thinking you have spark but no fuel to the cylinders. Thus the issue becomes electrical to the fuel injectors. As was mentioned a fusible link, fuse, wiring etc... is the culprit as I would doubt all of the injectors would have died at the same moment. |
