This isn't a good description, but there is a lever type thing that holds it on there. When you slide it down it should just pop the plug right out. Then when you put it back on you can slide it back up and it will lock it into place.

If the OBC still works but just the display isn't bright enough why didn't you just replace the bulbs?

andrewsarg101 02-04-2006 12:37 AM

Is it possible to change the bulds in the OBC since it's an LCD?

I was told no....sometimes it would go all the way out, sometimes it wouldn't but I found a new clock on Ebay for it for like 10.00 so I bought it. BMW told me at least a couple hundred bucks to fix it.

how much did you buy it for?? Mine dont light up at all, i dont know if i need a new box, or if its the fuses, which i dont even know which fuse it is.

I just happened to see it on Ebay and I got it for less than 20.00 I think. And thanks for everyone's help it has been replaced and is working great!

Was your ti a 95? If so i thought 95's didn't have an OBC?

AlaskaBlue 02-04-2006 07:00 AM

I have a 95 with the OBC.

Brrrknstock 02-04-2006 07:22 AM

1996. The OBC used to work but something happened and it wouldn't light up, you could read it if you looked really hard in the daylight but at night forget it. So it always worked but didn't light up properly at times.
