Cam position sensor Anyone comment on the practical quality of a Uro (or and other brand) vs OE BMW part for the M44 Cam position sensor? $60 vs $155? Thanks! [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I recently installed one that I got from Ed. He said nobody has ever had any issues with the ones he sells. That one looks like a "Vemo". I think it's been 5 months or so for me. fitment and all was right. I think OK to go for cheaper one. Mine had thrown this code so I changed it. The issue ultimately ended up being a battery going bad. Go figure.... |

I tried the cheap ones and it gave me the same fault after only about less than a year. I went with the BMW one for $150+ from FCP and it lasted over 3 years now and still good. |
Hate to say it but OEM or Bosch only. Uro are known to crap out quickly or simply not work right out of the box. Need to get one for the '99 myself. |
I'll echo what these guys are saying, Bosch is an OEM supplier and you generally don't go wrong with their parts. Often times the Genuine BMW sensor is just a Bosch with the BMW logo somewhere. |
I ended up pulling a used OEM BMW one off a spare motor and putting it in. All good. |
