cheap is good free is better, front rotors I just picked up my 98 318ti over the weekend, came with a set of rotors. They are solid, not for the 98, prior years I think? Anyway, if you want them and you are close come pick them up. |
98 was the year they switched rotors, if yours is an early build it needs the solid fronts. |
I have been doing this for a while! I know vented when I see them, mine are vented. Maybe that's how the original owner got confused? Anyway, someone come take these away! |
The switch from solids to vented came about halfway through the 98 production year. There are nearly as many 98s that take the solid discs as vented. The changeover happened around 3/98 or 4/98, and production of '98s would have started around 10/87 or 11/97. Check the build date of the chassis (driver side door frame). Or the easier way is simply to look at the edge of the front discs. Edit: With your initial post, I wasn't sure if you'd verified that they wouldn't fit. ;) |
Build date of 6/98, I had read about the split at 4/98, assumed I had the vented, but, did visual confirmation as well. (never hurts anything) |

No worries. Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to give away some free rotors? This would be my 3rd BMW, 2nd E36. I sold my 97 328i to get the 318ti, but, still have my 04 330i ZHP. My first love is VW's, the parts are cheaper than for BMW's. At least from my experience. I do most of my own work, have for a long time. I am not a kid anymore... |
Guys, easy. I think there is a bit of over reacting going on. |
I have thick skin... |

New as best as I can tell? The price is right! |
