COSTOMIZE 1998 BMW 318TI

Do you guys have any ideas to costomize a 1998 BMW 318TI?

zboot 01-15-2007 05:52 AM

hmm. . . you could tape $100 to the inside rear windows for a green tint . . . that would

SDKmann 01-15-2007 06:22 AM

Customize? Uh mabye you should have started with a civic for your first car instead of a ti. Your obviously not a car person, your just another kid who bought a few car magazines and joined this forum when you got close to being 16. Since your not a car person I would suggest you do absolutely nothing to your car because most likely anything you do will suck.

no need to be hostile now.

there are a lot of things you can do to customize your car, but it really depends on your goals (horsepower, handling, looks, etc) and your price range.

give us more details on your car and what youd like to do and how much money you have to spend and we can be more helpful

why dont you stfu. if he wants to upgrade his car then let him. his money, his taste, his car. just cuz your not gonna like what he does to his car doesnt mean he cant do it. you dont own him. how would you know if he purchased magazines or what not? And just to keep it kool, dont continue with this post by trying to counter argue with me and start bashing me. Ima end it here so that we dont crap another thread. His car, whatever he wants to do with it.

I would say nice rims (Stock BMW or aftermarket) and suspension (xbrace, coilovers or springs but make sure to get new rear shock mounts, rear camber kit if you change the suspension)

I see this with landscaping, I see this with home improvement projects, and I certainly see this with cars. Plan the entire car project before you spend a dime. Decide what you want the car to look like or what do you want to do with the car. Do you want a show car, a daily driver, a drag car, an autocross car, a roadracing car, etc.

Once you decide what you want to do with the car, start planning what upgrades you need. If you want a drag car you would want to install an M3 motor and appropriate tires, wheels, and suspension. If you want a show car you might want 18" rims (you don't want those on an autocross car, too heavy) and a body kit, for example.

By planning it out you will have a much more finished looking product in the end that meets your needs instead of an eclectic assortment of crud that will make the car look like a kids car.

That being said, what do you want to do with the car, and maybe we can help?

My advice, mod the driver, not the car.
Get involved with motorsports. Start of with autocrossing. They are cheap and will teach you car control in a controlled environment.

Yeah but unless you mod the EXTERIOR of the driver you will not impress many folk which is also legitimate IMO. Plus if he's driving on 15" snow tires and beat down base shocks he's missing the experience anyways. I think it's fair to say the best upgrades for both car and driver can be 16"- 17" wheels, perfomance tires and matched shocks/springs.

IQVKUCUH- to respect this forum you really need to provide more information about your car and what you hope to do with it. A one sentence open ended question is kind of retarded. Would you ever walk into a party, walk up to a complete stranger and ask "What kind of music should I buy" or "What shoud I drink?"

And thank you for proving my point.

it all depends on your buget and what turns u on?

if you like bling´in it or if you´re a hardcore speed demon..

id say springs/shocks would be the cheapest-most effective mod, both visually and performace wise for the lower end of the scale

wheels are an obvious option, just look around ALOT before you decide. i think i changed my mind 15 times before i settled on the acs classics i have now

IMO, try to avoid any mods that sream "NOT MADE BY BMW" as it will loose you money when u decide to sell.

other than that, feckin enjoy yourself fella :P

Thats not very nice, if theres a problem with customizing a bmw, then what the hell do they make aftermarket parts for? btw, I hope you dont try to put the M-tech parts on your TI, that might be custom. Don't be an asshole to someone for wanting to do something to their vehicle to make it different, it's a form of personal expression, something to set them apart from the rest. I guess what your saying is everyone who has swapped their engine should have bought a Civic also.

Stop the Civic bashing! I love tastefully riced out Civics.

Seriuosly, I saw this dope 94 Civic hatchback that had the Z3 fender conversion, ALONG with all the performance mods, and that thing was f***ing awesome.
