3" Throttle Body

I'll be getting NickG's stage 3 software very soon. The software requires a 3" MAF sensor. I have the MAF and I also found a 3" Throttle Body from a 6 banger.

Does anyone know if I can/should run a larger Throttle Body? I've gotten conflicting answers from my guru buddies. One says "hell yeah, bro, do it!" the other says I will lose low end power.

Does anyone have a 3" TB on their M44?

We put an E36 M3 throttle body on our M44 for a while, On the N/A, we lost mad low end power , on the S/c M44 it worked out real nice, There are just a few small details to fix, the throttle position sensor is backwards meaning instead of reading 5v at open and 1 at closed it reads the other way around so you actualy have to flip the tb sensor around, the other thing is you have to rotate the tb sensor off of the bolt holes on the tb about 15deg. so that it reads exactly the same voltage at wide open as the 4cyl tb sensor on the 4cyl tb. Last is the Idle controll valve , must be reconected through some other vacume source instead of directly on the throttle body becuase the 6cyl throttle body does not have the idle controll valve built in. Other then working out the throttle cable issues, your good to go. Not a big increase in the 2-4.5k range but really noticable increase from 5k and up and a half a pound of extra boost.
