Will M3 parts fit a 96 ti?

Exactly what it says. I kind of wrecked my ti and I wanna know if parts are interchangeable. whether the parts be from a newer bmw or same year or what ever. This is the link for the crash http://hs.facebook.com/album.php?aid...&id=1553670015

And this is the link for the parts im gonna put on so far

The front end of a ti is the same as the sedan, from the doors to hatch are unique to the ti.

jzamarripa 04-04-2007 03:12 PM

what about changing front ends with newer years?"
and what do you mean boot to doors?

The parts you are most concerned about are common to all e36 sedans (not coupes). This includes front bumper, fenders, grill. Headlights are universal, corner lights are sedan. Doors not sure- think they're sedan metal with Ti interior fitment. Suspension is common to all e36 318i/ti. 325/328/M3 is possible but not advised w/o weight of 6 cyl. You should not have a problem if you stick to 318 sedan parts to make it simple.

yeah but what about putting some newer stuff on an ti?

1rstbmw! 04-05-2007 02:50 AM

So the front bumper cover is different between sedans and coupes?

You guys are lucky, I dont think there are any yards in the San Antonio area with parts for the ti

The front bumper and headlights are universal. Corners, fender, hood, nose panel, and mirrors are all compatible with the e36 sedan.

Thanks for clarifying, drew a blank on the bumper. Looked like he had door damage too- what are our doors?

I thought the fenders and nose clip changed for 97-99, any hood is good from a HB or sedan from 92-99, and bumper from any E36 from 94-99. If I am wrong, please correct me. Thanks.

They did change, but they are still compatible.

Just curious -- what about the fenders changed? I'm looking at pictures of a 98ti and can't see any differences from my 96.

sprzesmi 04-08-2007 05:07 PM

I believe it was just the hole for a skinny marker light versus a fat marker light. If I remember correctly, some of the aftermarket fenders don't have a hole just so they can sell to all years.
