Michel - 323ti Hi everyone, After lots of reading here I've decided to introduce myself and my 323ti. I'm from the Netherlands and I've bought my 323ti back in 2011. Since then I've used it as my daily car but that's gonna change pretty soon. As trackdriving is my hobby you can guess what's gonna happen with the car. Some more info about my 323ti ; Built May 1998 First sold in Germany, then imported to The Netherlands in 2007. No sunroof, aircon/climate control, parking distance control etc. Just electrical windows and sport interior..that's about it. Quite a 'budget' 323ti..but that's a good thing because it means I don't have to take out much haha. It weighs about 2700lbs with full interior. It's 100% stock now but of course that's gonna change and right now I'm collecting all the suspension parts. I already have a H&R Cupkit, custom changed for the Nordschleife and Meyle HD parts all over the place. I'll update this topic along as things change to the car. For now, you'll have to do it with these pics ; https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-9...0/DSC_0181.JPG https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-j.../IMG_59301.jpg https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-0...0/IMG_3070.jpg |
Very nice, welcome. Are those pics at Nürburg? I'd love to drive that track... |
Welcome to the Org. Great pics! |
Grettings! Cool shots. Wish I could find one without a sunroof. |
Thanks guys.. @Chrisbec ; indeed, that's at the Nordschleife. Been driving there now for 9 years, it's only a 100 mile drive for me and, as I'm sure you can imagine, I'm there quite often. Since my first laps I've driven each car there I've owned, from a 75hp Toyota Starlet to a 300hp MR2 Turbo, drove in the snow, drove in hot summers, crashed a car once and many brown underwear moments  |
Welcome! Nice car! Looking forward to seeing your next pics. Cheers! |
I've been quite busy with the 323ti lately. All of the sudden my hazard lights stopped working. This turned out to be the hazard light relay. I cleaned the contacts and the circuitboard a bit and now they work just fine. Next day I park it behind another car at an ATM. Came back to the car only to find out the guy in the car that was parked in front of me, didn't see my car and backed into it. Luckily he didn't drove off and my insurance is working on it.. the kidneys are smashed to pieces and the front panel surrounding the kidneys is dent. I'll repair this myself...I'll replace the chrome kidneys for shadowline black kidneys and buy a new frontpanel. Then a few days later my alternator died. I thought I was going to have the difficult task of replacing it (mind you..I owned a MR2) but it went surprisingly well..just about 2 hours work with lots of cleaning here and there. On the MR2 something like this would take like.. 4 hours. And on top of that lotsa blood, tears, swearing etc. etc. Also yesterday I've ordered a few parts. - Front parts for shock assembly : 2x Dust protection collar 2x Washer 2x Upper spring plate 2x Spring pad upper 2x Protection tube 2x Rubber boot 2x Adapter - Rear parts for shock assembly : 2x Z3 reinforcement plate 2x gasket - Miscellaneous : Pedals (made in 'Murica !) http://www.bmwpedals.com/e36.html Heatshield between tank & exhaust Repair kit (springs) for parking brake Brake shoes for parking brake Expanding lock for parking brake Brake pad wear sensor 2x Reg. plate lamps (housing & bulbs) Well that should do it for the time being. Once I've collected all ze partz, I can start wrenching.. And because a post like this is simply boring, I'll just add 1 lame pic. I love those grippy looking tires in the first picture. What are they? John |
Lol they are my winter tyres...obviously. Front : Goodyear Ultragrip 8 195-65R15 Rear : Vredestein Snowtrac 3 195-65R15 They make the car handle like the Titanic on wheels. Turn the wheel..wait for it...wait a bit more..aaaaand the car turns. |
