98 318ti Sport 5spd 185k, $4,500

5 Attachment(s)
1998 318ti, with M tech sport package, 16 inch wheels, M body kit, leather and cloth interior, On Board Computer (OBC), cruise control, power windows, power locks, fog lights, and sunroof. Everything works except driver side power lock (key works, but not power motor). 185k miles, asking $4,500.

I’ve always used Full Synthetic oil, and changed it before the last green light goes out.
Motor uses no oil between changes. It still has the original valve cover gasket, and is leaking a little bit.
The transmission shifts great, as is the clutch.
I purchased this car with 70k on it, and have used it as my daily driver since. It has been a great car.

At about 70K:
Clutch, Pressure plate, though-out bearing, and quibo joint replaced.
The front lower control arms and ball joints were also replaced at that time.

At about 120k:
Replaced driver side window lift mechanism.
Rear speakers replaced with Infinity Reference series in separate enclosure

At about 150k:
All 3 rear subframe/ differential mounts replaced
rear upper shock mounts.
Headliner replaced
hoses on power steering, and reservoir
Serpentine belt, Upper radiator hoses, and thermostat. replaced,
And alternator replaced.

At about 175k:
Replaced: spark plugs, and wires.
Replace rear muffler section.

Brake pads, and rotors are good. (I don’t remember exactly when they were done.) Wheels are excellent. No curb rash, are straight and true. Battery is only a few year old.

Car drives great. No vibration at speed. Brakes, and steering are great.
Tires are Continental Extreme DWS, and the S’s are still showing.

No major body work has been done. Only paint repair was before I purchased it. It was broken into and required paint on lift gate, and left rear near window. The clear on the lift gate is coming off. All other paint is original, and in great shape. There are quite a few small nicks on the front bumper and air damn from highway driving. There os a place on the rear bumper where the paint has been rubbed off. (see pic).

Interior:
Shows normal wear. No rips or tears. Headliner has been replaced. Always used mats, so carpets are excellent. Passenger seat switch for air bag is bad. I’ve got a by-pass on it, so there are no trouble codes, and it will go off if seat is empty or full. A/C works great, never had any problems with it.

Other issues:
Occasionally left front wheel speed sensor throws a code. I have new sensor, just haven’t got round to replacing it yet. Also, it throws an ignition fade out code, but runs fine. I’ve replaced the wires, and plugs. I guess the coil pack is next.
Overall I’ve kept ups with the maintenance, and it’s been extremely reliable and fun. It’s a great car. It’s just time for something newer for me. You should be able to drive this car for the next 1 to 2 years with little or no maintenance.

Here is a pic of the clear comming off that I took in the summer. Pretty much all the clear is off the area at the base of the back window. Also Here are a few more. One shows rubbed place on bumper and new speaker arrangement.
I do have the storage area cover (not pictured).

Has this car had the plastic pieces replaced in the cooling system? I'm in WV and would like to see it. Let me know.
