E36 DEPO headlights with thinline angel eyes blowing fuse # 43

so im not sure if anyone else has had this problem but i have done some research and the few people that had similar issues were not able to figure out what was going on...by the way i have a 1996 318ti with E36 DEPO projector headlights with thinline angel eyes ordered from ddmtuning.com about 6 months ago.

so the problem started when i got out of my car and realized that my marker lights were on but they were only on, on the passenger. at first i was really confused because it made no sense what so ever. So first thing i did was open up the fuse box and look for the fuse that was blown. I came across fuse number 43. It controls the interior lights and the driver side lights such as the driver side tail light, marker lights, and possibly the head light. i say possibly the headlight because mine worked on and off. so next i tried turning off the interior lights and putting a new fuse in but it blew again. then i checked to see if there was any loose wires the could possibly be shorting out the somewhere, i found nothing. so i got my meter out and kept checking each wire to see if there was any strange voltages going on but once again i had nothing. as i kept looking around i started to smell something electrical burning. Within the next few minutes it got stonger and i started to see smoke. right away i turned off the lights. i took the headlight assembly out and started checking the wires but everything looked ok at first. then i put a new fuse in number 43 and turned them on one more time and there was a little black box i believe it is a transformer for the halos was smoke. i unplugged the positive wire that goes from the marker lights to the halos and the fuse didnt blow.

So basically if anyone has a problem with fuse number 43 blowing and you have the same headlights that i do check to make sure that the check the small black box inside the housing isnt smokeing.. or on fire. im in the process of calling ddmtuning. i submitted a "ticket" on their website told them that my headlight was smoking and marked it an emergency. the best they could do is email me back and tell me to disconnect the gray wire and take apart housing and take a picture of the black box. hopefully they can just send me a new one. ill update soon.
