#1. My first car was a nissan frontier, so I don't even need to say how much of an upgrade this is. I love my car cuz I live in the mountains of new mexico, and there are windy roads everywhere, and it never fails to bring a smile to my face, nor does it ever give up when we are attacking said windy roads.

#2. I saw one on a highway the day after I bought mine (hadn't picked it up though). since then, there have been no sightings, however, there are only 17000 residents in my county, and most are honda insight types (I live in Los Alamos).

#3. My passenger window fell into my car at 85 mph when it was 2 degrees outside. replaced the clips and regulators for like 80 bucks, but otherwise the windows are fine.

#4. The ti weighs less than them. And just has this kind of hot rod look in my opinion that a sedan or coupe (well, besides the z4 M) can't match. It's just more fun.

I was originally in the market for a 318is over a 318ti, simply because I think the e36 coupé is possibly the most handsome variant, although I would be equally happy with a touring also. However the comparative rarity of the Compact combined with finding a well-kept one on sale locally for a right price meant I've ended up in the hatch club and actually I don't regret it at all.

At first I was annoyed by the negative 'oh you must be really rich/a drug dealer' bull**** that seems to get thrown at you by people but when it comes to the point it's fairly obvious they're basically jealous and/or have absolutely no idea when it comes to cars.

oh, my passenger window has also fallen into the door frame (when I had to park the car in a fairly grimy part of town) and i've had the regulator fixed twice so far lol

If you grow weary of you ti, please give me the first shot at it. Cheers. John

Vintage thread...

I'll answer question one, though.

I first saw a Ti in 96 or 97, back when was destroying Minneapolis on my skateboard. I remember a lot of vivid details of that first sighting. I knew at some point I would be owning one. I had no money back then. They were hella expensive compared to what they can be had for nowadays. When I did have money, I blew it on a lot of other mindlessness. The appeal of the Ti has hasn't really changed much. If anything, I find it more desirable just because of its unique presence and timeless style.
