Nice.
I have done that a couple of times but using paint polishing compound.

It gets hazy again after 3 months or so.
Has anybody tried anything to keep it from getting hazy again?

Honestly since you are dealing with elements and plastic they will always craze at some point. Only way around it is to go back to glass.

What you need is UV protection since that is the reason it yellows. I have used Krylon clear coat on my Porsche Boxster and it has been 18 months so far with no yellow.

All of the following products offer UV protection for <$10:
  • 303 Aerospace Protectant
  • 3M 39010 - Lens Polish & Protector
  • Blue Magic 730-6 - Headlight Lens Sealer
  • Chemical Guys GAP11504 - Headlight Restorer & Protectant
  • Hi-Tech Industries HRSK4 - Headlight Seal Kote
  • Krylon K01305 - UV-Resistant Clear Gloss
  • McKee's 37 Headlight Protectant Spray
  • Meguiar's G14716 - Ultimate Long Lasting Protectant Spray
  • Rust-Oleum Automotive 254855
  • Turtle Wax One Step Headlight Cleaner and Sealant

I never really liked applying a clear coat on.
They also yellow over time and could possibly peel off later which will even make it look worst.
I will just keep polishing. LOL.
