205 50R16 OR 225 50R16?

We are trying to decide on which to go with. Tire Rack is saying the 205 will fit but the 225 will have issues unless we "Roll the Fender Lip". Does anyone have any experience or feddback on the topic. Any is appreciated. The tires WON'T be daily drivers but for Auto-X only.

Whats the wheel width and offset?

I run 225/50-16 star specs on 16x8 et38 with no issues.

We are purchasing new rims with the rubber so that is why I am asking. So you are running 225/50-16 with no issues. Did you roll the fenders or not. We are looking NOT to have to modify the fenders but get the widest tires with any mods. THe suspension has been modestly lowered by previous owner.

We are looking at the 16" Kosel K1 Rims with a possible 225/45-16.

I have not rolled the fenders. I am lowered on coilovers and the wheel is probably closer to touching the strut body than the fender.

Do you have any special offset on the rims as the look like the BMW Stock rims.

The wheels are BBS RK 16" x 8" with a 38mm offset.

Roll your fenders......all you need is your stock jack, a heat gun, and a baseball bat. Heck, mine can almost run 255/35r18's up front.....

I run a 225/45R18 on konis and sport springs, ET35 offset wheels with spacers in the rear with no rubbing issues at all, and I didn't roll the fenders

I run 225/50-16 for daily and autocross with no issues whatsoever

I run 225/50R16's daily no problem. Didn't have to roll any fenders, no rubbing at all. No spacers needed either.

I use 8" 38mm offset rims with 15mm spacers (on rear) and 225s and have no issues.
