Do I have the car that I think I do?
 

As a member of the forum for quite some time now I've grown accustomed to 318ti's and all they're different trim levels etc. I recently took a leap of faith and allowed my parents to sell my '97 318ti Active on my behalf. I allowed this because they had found a '99 ti with a 5spd (mine was an auto) for 4k and said that they'd sell my car and get get this new one for me. I believe all '99s came with the sport package and just wanted to confirm this theory. The car is Fern Green (I believe), has a beige california roof, cloth interior, and 16 or 17in 5 spoke wheels. I have not seen the car in person but this is what was reported to me from my father (a true BMW nut). Please comment with anything that helps me figure out my new car. Thanks!!!

I beilieve all '99 318ti's in North America came with the sport package/Mtech trim. It should also have side impact airbags, a 3 spoke steering wheel and vented front brakes. All sports came with black headliners, carpet, pillars, consoles and dash as well as leather/cloth sport seats. I've never seen a beige or tan cali top before, perhaps one of the previous owners had it replaced.

the color of the cal top also was interesting to me, the car is currently in oswego ny having the oil pan replaced and will be picked up sometime within the next week, ill post pics when i have them, thanks for your input

Jess is correct...all 99 ti's are Sports. I can't wait to see pics of your car. If the car is in anywhere decent shape you're getting a bargain.

from what i am told the car is in very good condition, the only issues that I've been informed of are a slipping clutch, and something with the steering rack. this car will be partaking in autocross and other track purposes so there these are things that would be looked at and most likely replaced anyways

i love the color, its fern green which was used exclusively on e36 m3's with the exception of the 656 '99 ti's if my research is correct. and i have given her a name, its Sophia

All my cars get named in the heat of battle... Usually G**Da** POS, or effin B!#ch....
It just a case of when the damn drivers window drops into the door again!... LOL

Very nice! The cali roof in the pics looks black though. Did the beige not show up in the pics or was your dad referring to the INSIDE if the roof? ;-)

haha the cali roof is indeed black, and for that matter so it the inside of the roof, so I'm not exactly sure what he was referring to. but either way I'm very pleased with my new ti :biggrin:
